Hi All,
This chapter is specifically the high points for future reference for anyone interested...
I hope you find it amusing.
Top 10 things overall:
1. Sailaway from Port Canaveral with a frozen drink (I think it was a Bahama Mama but I'm not sure; It was tropical and ice cold and yummy!)
2. Meeting fellow DISers at the Cruise Meet on Saturday night,
and Tooty Jane in the Laundry Room. It was so nice to put names with faces, and have a chance to exchange experiences with others from the board. Everyone is really, really nice. My DDs especially enjoyed time with MagicalFam's children.
3. The verandah; especially the sunsets.
4. My DDs faces at the Dolphin Swim in Cozumel
5. DHs happiness after another yummy dinner-which was every night in his opinion. Jeevan from India was in charge of our area, with Jean from Macedonia and Maria from England at our table. They were wonderful (Won't get into DH's reaction to the Rasul Spa thing; suffice to say he liked it-a lot
)
6. The ship's horn blasing after docking next to the Carnival (?) ship in Cozumel, and the look of appreciation/jealously from the cruisers on the other ship
7. Category 3- two showers and a whirlpool tub; two toilets; no waiting; special line at check-in, waiting area & boarding priviledges; prebooking in Sessions; all priceless. I felt like Mrs. Astor (oh, that dates me, maybe I should say Mr. Trump, whatever)
8. Disembarking proceedures on DCL. Don't have anything to compare it to, but it couldn't have been any easier. Found our bags immediately in the color coded area, all in order of stateroom. Customs was a breeze for us, as our bill consisted of a key chain from Grand Cayman, postcards from each port, a video from the Dolphins, a poster, and pictures from Shutters.
(Lest you think we got off easy, you should just see the final tally of tropical drinks on our stateroom account)
9. Best souvenier: the art deco poster of the Magic from Treasure Ketch or Mickey Mates-can't remember which. I had it signed by the Captain and by the Imagineer who was on our sailing. Will have it framed and on display in our living room/library corner very soon. Also received a lithograph from concierge of Minnie and Mickey at Animators, and had our servers sign that for a nice keepsake, which will also be framed.
10. Palo; and this is from someone who was going to skip it totally. We had dinner on Tuesday evening, and brunch on Thursday, and loved it. Our server was Salvatore from Italy, and he treated us better than family, which is saying a lot if you are Italian or have the priviledge of friends of Italian descent.
(Very) Honorable mentions:
the deserted hot tub (unusual to find) in early evening just before it closed. Soooo relaxing........
The surprise massage and facial as a gift from my DH and DDs; never experienced either one before and was very nervous. Found out there's nothing to worry about and it was awesome.
