First DVC trip to BCV at Thanksgiving...Any room advice?

Hello,

I am a new DVC member...and I called member services and was able to get a Thanksgiving reservation at BCV - 2 bedroom. The rep said she thought it must have been a cancellation. Did I get lucky? I am HAPPY!

Anyone have any advice re: what view to request? We have three kids, 7, 4, and 1.

What should I expect there this time of year?

You got lucky, just make sure you request non-smoking, other than that I would not concern myself.

I'll be there Thanksgiving also, with DS, DDIL, & DGDs, our 3rd Thanksgiving trip, ariving the Sat before and leaving the day after Thanksgiving.

If you'll have a car and want to self park the east end of the resort is the best bet, but try and get a pool view, the road side isn't very exciting.
If no car then the west end is closer to the BC lobby and to the bus stop, also a little shorter walk to EPCOT and the BW.
We've had dinner at Cape May Cafe both time and it was very enjoyable, but wherever you decide to eat I would get a reservation now so you can get a reasonable time.

If your arriving early in the week, that would be your best bet for doing the parks, Thanksgiving day and Friday will be pretty crowded, if the parks are open late they are usually a lot less crowded, from 6 till closing, but your kids may be a little young for that. I don't remember what the hours were last year.
The weather can be a little iffy that time of year so don't be disappointed if it's not 75 or 80 degrees every day, but the pools are heated.
