Hey me and my girlfriend are thinking of going to Disney if not next April (2011) then for definite the one after that (2012) It will be her birthday while we are out there and we will be 21 and 20 or 21 and 22! I was just wondering if the Disney fanatics here had any tips plans or guides on how to have a successful trip and how to make it special for her!

We have both been to Disney with family before but never together :) we are going to stay for 3 weeks in a villa thanks in advance for the help guys :)

Hey
Me and my DBF are going on our 1st trip without family to WDW at the end of this month for a summer holiday which includes my birthday :goodvibes
we are staying offsite but in a hotel, so cant really advise on the villa part :upsidedow
To make it special:
Maybe supprise her with a cake/shopping trip? Plenty of places along I-Drive to shop and spend some money
Discovery Cove- Dolphin Swim?
book a restaurant for a nice meal?
etc? :thumbsup2
Hope you have fun planning your trip :thumbsup2

Heya, you've come to the right place to find out all about planning!

Have you checked you'll be able to rent a car? As otherwise a villa stay is going to be very difficult for you!

For your first trip I'd recommend staying onsite at a WDW hotel. It'll make your whole trip so much easier.

Welcome to the Dis - you have definately come to the right place if it is help with planning a trip to WDW.
It is likely that any question you have has been asked before so have a look through the some of the posts, use the search box and see what you can find. Failing that feel free to ask any specific questions you have - I would very surprised if there isn't someone who knows the answer.
But first heres a couple for you :goodvibes
Have you got a villa sorted yet? Do you know what you are looking for in a villa with regards to location and facilities? Have you looked into whether you can hire a car because of your ages?
Happy planning.
Looking forward to seeing lots of questions from you :thumbsup2

Welcome to the DIS.

To get the most from your trip I would suggest you make a plan otherwise you will waste much time and may miss some of the best bits. Disney is big, over 40 square miles with everything spread out so walking is not an option but if staying on site there is the free disney transporatation system.

Some people at work didn't make a plan and didn't know about things such as Fantasmic and Wishes and missed them.

Get to the parks early (for opening), if you get there 11 ish or later you will spend most of the day in lines, we get more done in the first 2-3 hours at the parks then we do for the rest of the day.

If eating on site make reservations (ADR) well in advance (180 days).

hope this helps

rob and kenny makesome v good points.
depending on whether you are travelling during easter hols or not,you might want to consider either tourguidemike or touringplans both are very good.
just hang out with us, there is a fair bit of good humoured mickey taking, but we are a very friendly bunch, everyone has different opinions, which is very good, and there are a few people (like me;)) who hang out on here too much:rotfl2:
my advice would be in early, out for lunch . chill pool and back in the evening.
your budget will affect what you do, a nice meal at $50 each is good, but could you/would you want to do it every night???
consider staying onsite, there are some amazing deals available, and ddp (though it is changing next year) removes alot of the cost/stress there are asdvanatges to staying off site (cost/space) so thats another big element to decide, as well as if you are going to do a package or DIY.
good luck

Hi guys thanks for the advice!
Yea we can rent a car small charge but easily manageable
we want to stay in a villa as we both like having a private pool especially as my partner is not a strong swimmer! and we also want to go to universal Busch gardens and other places in Florida :)

We have now changed the dates! and are going in august i know this is meant to be notorisoly hot! but we have both been in august so know what its like!

Whats the cheapest way to fly there in comfort from the UK?

In August I don't think you will find a cheap way I'm afraid.

Are you tied to school holidays?

If not then I strongly suggest you visit in September/October. Very low crowds and it's a great time for hotel rates and flights. :)

yea pretty much we are university students haha!
we enroll on the 15th of september!

Try and see if you can land home on like the 13th then. First two weeks of september you'll have empty theme parks to enjoy!
