Just off the Wish for a 4-night Bahamian cruise. First ever DCL, only second cruise for DH and I. Our first cruise was an Alaskan on RCCL 10 years ago. This time we have kids - ages 5 and 9.
I have to say, we are hooked. For our family, DCL gave us the experience we wanted.
Pros - food variety that appealed to all of us. We all found something we liked.
Entertainment - we loved all the activities including the shows.
Inclusive pricing - we didn’t feel nickel and dimed to death like we did on RCCL.
DCL transfers - with every penny to be able to not wait in line.
Cons - Kids club was way overcrowded. Kids didn’t spend much time there because of it.
Pools - too small for the amount of kids on the ship who clearly want to swim
1923 - food was subpar and there was no entertainment unless you wanted to stare at the walls.
Meh - Aquamouse. Cute concept, get why it is so short. Wouldn’t go on again unless there was no line.
Arendelle - show was great, food was ok but didn’t appeal to kids.
Overall we are sold on DCL based on how we like to vacation as a family. We like activities and shows for when we want to do stuff, and we like the price including 99% of what we want to do on the boat.
