Trying to start planning my itinerary (yes, a little early, but what I can I say, I'm hooked! :earboy2: ).
I was hoping we could fly in around 1 in the afternoon, be at SOG and hopefully checking in by 2, and then maybe just wandering around, maybe catching a ride or two if the lines are short. I'm going to try to make a Chef Mickey PS for around 5-5:30, then catch Spectromagic from Main Street by the Railroad Station, and go back to the Contemporary to catch Wishes from the 4th floor observation deck. If this works, I figure we can grab the first Monorail that comes through the resort and go back to the Poly, and then walk to SOG. Or we can go for a short walk by the lake and catch the Electric Water Pageant if we are in the mood.
Does this sound like a workable plan? :confused3 I figured it's only about a 10 minutes walk from Main Street Railroad to the Contemporary, but haven't been in so long, and never took the path to the Contemporary.
Anyone who knows this area, I'd appreciate your opinion! I figure we'll have more energy to stay up late that day (since we won't be leaving home terribly early) than we would after running aorund all day at the park!
:disrocks:

just wondering what kind of passes you'd have since gong to see spectro would mean a park admission. arrival day we usually just relax and go a nice dinner and to dtd that night ( never buy any thing but don't know why -we just ain't really there till we go to dtd!)

We have 7 day park-hopper passes; we'll only be there for 6 full days, but since the 7 day was only $3 more, it was a good deal!
:disrocks:

If you are going to watch spectro from the train station why not just stay there and watch wishes, that's a great place to watch it. It just seems that if you leave the contemp and go to spectro and then run back to the contemp for wishes you are going to be worn out from all that back and forth.

I had heard that the crowds leaving the park are crazy  ; I figured I could stroll over to the Contemporary for the show, then after Wishes, just climb on the monorail to get back to the Poly, thereby hopefully bypassing all the people trying to get on the monorail (we do the same with the subway on the 4th of July in DC; catch it before it goes through the city and the crowds trying to get on).
:disrocks:

ok then if you are going to use the pass any way why not "really" use it... so hit MK as soon as you feel up to it after check in .I'd probably eat at crystal palace or liberty tree (if you really want a character meal, or go to chef mickey another day)then stay for spctro and wishes
( imo better in the park if you haven't seen it so i'd see it there first)!

what away to start the trip!

i haven't done it but have heard of some who walk to the cont. and it looks short enough but we have always taken the mono. not sure where shades of green is but if the GFLoridian is closer you can also take a boat to that or the poly from mk also

I went crazy trying to decide where to eat. I finally decided on Chef M for our first night because it has our favorite characters (Mickey, Chip & Dale), and because I love the idea of the Contemporary...I wanted to stay there but it wasn't in the budget. We might hit the LTT the day we hit the MK. CP sounds great, but my DS would not like Winnie the Pooh (although I sort of like Tigger!)
