Is summer officially over? Are we seeing the actual fall demand after the last ditch run into debt summer vacation is over?
Nothing has added up this year as far as predictions have gone. OBB tickets were so incredibly easy to get and lasted for days. Dining reservations (for most places) have been WAY easier to get and often linger for hours or even days. Physically calling Napa Rose is usually an exercise patience, but I’ve been able to get through with at most one hang up and redial move, and normally at best I can get one Chef’s Counter night in advance and really go off “any available day,” this year I got ALL THREE days that I asked about as options…
It all adds up to demand being very different than last year and previous years. This feels a little more like 2019 which was a noticeably more “relaxed” feeling during an OBB party and the parks felt lively but nowhere near soul crushing during the day.
BUT, when I spot checked wait times the last few weeks, you still saw 80+ minutes at times for Guardians or RSR, Rise was still always 60+ minutes, etc.
Today, a Friday, at mid day, and I’m seeing A LOT of 10s and 15s over in Disneyland and Rise, Indie, and Matterhorn are all under 45 minutes and Smugglers is 10! That’s practically walk on.
DCA doesn’t look bad either, I’m seeing a lot of 15-35 minutes with the outlier being RSR, but that’s still less than an hour.
On a Friday…
What’s Tuesday-Thursday going to look like? Is this fall going to be a lot more enjoyable? Has everyone finally ran out of money?
