First day in Disneyland in this heat and I have blisters!!!

If you have a car or can get a cab, the Target on Harbor (about 1 mile south of DLR) should have moisture wicking socks (Champion brand?), blister bandaids (a must!!), moleskin, neosporin (if needed), and body glide (I think I saw some variation of it in the shoe section). You may be able to find some inexpensive shoes there that will be comfortable over the socks and bandages.
Good for you for having a positive attitude. Hope that you are able to find some foot relief and enjoy the rest of your trip!

There is also a Big 5 Sports on the way to Target. I would recommend some
nice socks (thin double layer running socks if they have them) and just pick up a cheap pair of Asics running shoes at Big 5.

I also like to put that "new skin" type brush on stuff to help harden up the blisters.

Hope you sort it all out!

If you can swing the extra expense, get yourself to the Sanuk store in DTD

Oh my gosh I so SECOND THIS!!!! We found this store on our last trip and it was a life saver. Three days into our 6 day trip my feet were gone -- I was never going back to the park again. New shoes for everyone and we were back in business. They were so wonderful I can't remember or care how much we spent it was SO worth it and a trip saver for me!!!

Moisture-wicking socks are life savers for those who are prone to getting nasty blisters all over their feet (I wear the New Balance socks).

Body Glide is great -- or if you don't have access to that, don't be afraid to slather your feet with an abundance of powder before putting the socks on. That works great too.

The blister relief pads from Band-Aid are okay once you have the blisters and want to cover them up so you can walk around in comfort.

A tip we got from the WDW boards before our 11-day August trip to the world was to spray our feet with aerosol antiperspirant before hitting the parks. We wore Keens every day and the only time there was a blister (between both me and DD) was the 1 evening that DD forgot to spray her feet.

I know that is a little too late for the OP but maybe for future reference. :goodvibes

I always keep blister bandaids in my Disney bag too, just in case. But we all usually wear socks and sneakers to DLR.

I just wanted to say I feel ya and good luck! I was there on Dapper Day with formal shoes that were hurting my feet so I went to the Fantasia gift shop and bought the Disney Crocs flip flops for $50 they sell, and ended up with the blisters of DOOM (seriously. worst blisters of my life). It was still a wonderful day, but I had to walk(or, hobble) a lot slower the rest of the day. I don't think I'll do flip flops there again - socks and shoes (and a healthy amount of moleskin packed just in case) for me!
