I never get blisters, but I decided to wear Crocs sandals into the parks today. It was absolutely sweltering and I would NOT have made it through the day with socks on.
Ugh! I now have to deal with these blisters for 3 more days in the parks.

I've got to plan better for our schedule tomorrow

Mole skin or blister band aids Moisture wicking socks. If u can find body glide that will help chafing issues as well. Good luck!

If you can swing the extra expense, get yourself to the Sanuk store in DTD and get yourself a pair of their Yoga Sling 2 flip flops. I have now worn them on two Disneyland trips and unlike the other 4 trips, no blisters! Trust me, your feet will thank you.

Body glide was a SAVIOR this past weekend. Heavily dressed, humid, and HOT. We survived unscathed due to it.

Absolutely.

There's no way I would have done a sweltering day withOUT socks on! My moisture wicking socks plus some body glide on heels, tops of feet, ends of toes, and even between the toes = happy feet. I'd also bring my flip flops, but I'd switch back and forth.

If you don't have a car and can't get anywhere, at the very least get to first aid and get adhesive bandages or whatever else they might have for blisters. They are actually Registered Nurses at First Aid, and they are VERY good and VERY helpful. And there's no charge for their help. :) Definitely go see them.

I bought some of those after the Half, and I give 'em a big ol' MEH. The soles don't bend and they end up hurting! No blisters, but painful feet. And that's even now, a few weeks after running 13 miles LOL.

My son bought some normal Sanuk flip flops at the same time, and they are fabulous. They squish and bend and the second he grows out of them I'm stealing them. Weirdly, he got a boy's size 5 (the employee got them from the kid section!) and they fit better than a women's size 9 sling flip flop. (I'm an 8W in an athletic shoe, so...weird) Come on kid, GROW!

That happened to me at WDW. Crocs without socks = baaaad news. :rotfl:

How strange! I've got two pairs of the yoga sling 2's and both of them have soles that bend. I've also got a pair of the regular flip flops and while I like them a ton, I LOVE my yoga slings!

Op, I will amend my original suggestion. Get yourself to the Sanuk store in DtD and try on their shoes to see if you love them! I got my first pair two trips ago when I got some pretty nasty blisters our first day. Wore the yoga slings for the rest of the trip and even though I still had blisters, the sanuk's did not rub where my feet hurt.

Good luck, blisters at DL is no fun at all!

well it seems that suffering through socks would have been the better option.

personally i always wear socks and sneakers at the parks.

the only exception is if i will be going back to the hotel to change into a dress for dinner. in that case i'll change into sandals but ones that i know i can walk in for several hours and not get blisters in.

i also put vapor rub on my feet before putting socks and sneakers on which does make for hotter sweatier feet but i just suck it up cuz i know that at the end of the day my feet will be only a little sore and have no blisters as compared to veing so sore i could cry.

i've been to disney world a number of times in the middle of summer when its 90+ and i went to DLR last summer when it was about 92 everyday and i still put vapor rub on and wear socks and sneakers.

I went to the parks the week before last just to go on one ride, so I wore flip flops. Huge mistake, I could feel the heat from the ground in Tomorrowland radiating onto the bottom of my feet. The bottoms of my toes got burned, my guess is from the reflection of the ground when I was walking. At a minimum I'm wearing slip on canvas shoes now, and saving the flip flops for winter weather. (That's So Cal winter.)

At this point, I'm not sure I can even wear my tennis shoes. The heat is making my feet swell and adding blisters makes tennis shoes an impossibility. Does any wear around her sell moisture wicking socks? And are they soft and comfy?

I wore my sandals Crocs, but I brought my regular, so-out-style Crocs, too. I have no problem putting those on with socks, if that's what's best for my feet. I'm a Pooh-sized Mama that's rocking the fanny pack, anyway. Socks and Crocs just adds to my overall image, anyway.

I have no intention of telling my husband I've got blisters and there's no way I'm going to let them slow me down. I'm determined to suck it up and prevent it from getting worse, while helping our family enjoy ourselves.

I forgot to add that I'm not a flip flops kinda person. After someone on here raved about Sanuks, I tried the Yoga slings on at Nordstroms. They were not for me.

If you have a car or can get a cab, the Target on Harbor (about 1 mile south of DLR) should have moisture wicking socks (Champion brand?), blister bandaids (a must!!), moleskin, neosporin (if needed), and body glide (I think I saw some variation of it in the shoe section). You may be able to find some inexpensive shoes there that will be comfortable over the socks and bandages.
Good for you for having a positive attitude. Hope that you are able to find some foot relief and enjoy the rest of your trip!

You have a great attitude!! I got blisters as a summer camp counselor, but my shoes were comfy---no sore feet soles -just blisters. So I wanted to keep wearing my blister-causing Tevas. I bought very large band aids and went thru about a box per day as the band aids would rub off and I'd replace. Cost about $5 per day but worth it!

So sorry to hear about your blisters, no fun at all :(
I second the moisture wicking socks, sprinkled with some baby powder. The powder will help keep your feet dry. Perhaps the hotel shop will have some and probably band aids too. If can find Smartwool socks, they are the best, but expensive.
Honestly, comfort is key, so if socks and crocs work for you then go with that.
Good luck!

I might have to do this. My feet aren't sore. Just blistered. My regular Crocs has a lip that comes up and digs into the blisters. The shoes that caused the blisters doesn't. I'll have to see what I can figure out.

All I know is we haven't been here in six years and we're celebrating our youngest's 8th birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary.

Mama has no time for blisters!

Okay, I did it. I managed to get my tennis shoes on. I put band aids over blisters and am bringing spares. I will need to buy Neosporin somewhere.
Wish me luck!

I'm jealous. The ones I've tried on (repeatedly) at REI don't bend, but I didn't realize it was going to be a problem until after I'd worn the ones I bought a whole day.

Dukland, I'm not sure why you want neosporin, but they might have some to provide at First Aid. And if the bandages you're using aren't adequate or you run through them, again, First Aid.
