I do not consider myself a "complainer" and have never really in truly had a major problem during any Disney visit over the last 15 yrs. until today!
The last six trips we have stayed at POFQ and love it there, however in order to take advantage of the free dining offer which was not offered at POFQ we made reservation at CBR for a preferred room and made request for fridge as we have 2 meds which require refrigeration. Inquired about fridge at registration and was told one would be brought right over. Upon opening door to room we immediately noticed a very strong mildew odor. So strong that several people passing by as I opened door commented on smell.
My nephew has multiple disabilities and after 15 min in room was rubbing his eyes and I had to use his nasal spray. I called front desk to ask for a other room and was told housekeeping would be notified. First a maid outside came in at my request and told me I would get used to it! I couldn't believe it and called front desk again this time the head of housekeeping came and agreed the smell was bad and suggested it might be from A/C. he called maintenance and went and got a room fogger to spray in room. This of course lasted only a few moments.
Maintenance arrived and pulled out A/C unit and replaced with a new unit and did some cleaning inside unit. We also had still not rec'd fridge so called again and we're told again a fridge was coming.
Went to ADR @Ohanas we were seated only 5 min after our arrival for a 6:25 ressie. Salad and appetizers were quickly brought along with drinks. We waited almost 30 min for. Main course and finally server brought shrimp 13 min later we got a few pcs of chicken another 10 min for the pork and finally 13 more min for the steak. Oh and server actually had asked if we were ready for dessert before he realized we had never even had the meat course!
But wait there is more.....we paid check and went to get on monorail to MK so we could get bus back to CBR and monorail was broken down! We were directed to wait for a special bus to. MK, or take a launch from Poly, or take bus to Contemp and walk to MK. Then another guest suggested we walk to transportation center and take ferry boat over to MK. This is what we did then waited 20 min for bus to CBR
Then when we got back to room smell was even worse. Called front desk again and asked for mgr. but of course CM insisted I tell her whole story, then she says "oh my, you need to speak to a manager". She says a manager will come to our room. But no, the manager called I explained problems again he put me on hold for 10 min then informed there were no preferred ground level rooms with 2 beds available and offered to check another comparable resort.
So it's now 11:24 pm and we just got into a Very nice room with a fridge at POFQ! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!
