Well this will be the first TR so go easy. I would like to apologize in advance for any blurry/fuzzy photos since they have been resized by online software from the original huge sizes. Also, like some I don't post faces.

Day 1 The drive.
We had Res for Sunday 6/6 and had already requested and faxed our site/Loop preference. We went with 1514 and crossed our fingers on the drive down from the Cincy area. Left on the Friday before to make the trip as easy as possible, especially for the kids...and me too! Hit three storms for the drive. I was fine with that as long as our arrival would be rain free. How many more fingers can I cross and still drive safe?

On the road about ten minutes, 867 miles to go: (I know, bad shot)

Later on the day DD is already looking comfy. I wish I could change places with her.

Coming up to the first rain storm and we haven't even left KY yet.

Are we there yet.....not quite

Day 2, Still driving:
About the half way point. Noticed at a pit stop one of the wheels dust covers on camper was missing. Must have been that bump we hit in southern TN where I thought the camper was going to leave us. Posted a question on Dis boards if anyone knew locations for a replacement. Ended up stopping in Byron, GA at Camping world and 30 minutes later we are back on the road. Atlanta in the distance. Planned it so we would go through on a Sat. Not as bad as NY driving on a Sat. Turned out to be a bad accident on the outer loop, glad we went right through downtown.

About this time the camera batt died (we have alot more pics that I won't bore you with....what's that...you're already bored). Charger was in back on car. Day 3 and Disney are coming up.

Great job so far! Never apologize for posting any pics...even if you think they are mundane. We LOVE pics around here!

Hi!

I'm just popping in to say that you are doing a great job so far.

Take your time, and don't worry. Everyone loves a trip report. And what you think is boring will probably be of interest to more folks than you think.

So, tell us all about it!

The good.

The bad.

The boring.

I will read it all.

And so will a lot of others.

Thanks for taking the time to write a report.

I wish more folks would do the same.

DITTO! I agree 100%. When I read a TR it keeps me going in between visits so I don't get too "homesick". We got a long time til our Christmas trip :santa:

I second that. Now where is my popcorn:: that's better:)

Black Crappie/Speckeled Perch,,,:thumbsup2

Mmmmmmmm.
Frank, you are bringing back a flood of memories. My gramma used to make me a big batch of Perchcorn every time I spent the night at her house. I always preferred it to the Crappiecorn. :rotfl:

You were very smart to go through Atlanta on a Saturday. I'm not sure there is worse traffic anywhere else than the traffic in Atlanta!

I'm enjoying the trip so far! Keep it coming!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone!!!

You were very smart to go through Atlanta on a Saturday. I'm not sure there is worse traffic anywhere else than the traffic in Atlanta!

Not sure about that. Am a displaced New Yorker...talk about traffic.

Where were we...oh yeah..almost there.
We stopped in Gainesville for our second night. More swimming that night and only an hour and half to go. Did Publix there, Man was that expensive. Almost as much as Fort prices...almost

After charging the batt on camera it was time to press on. The excitement in the car was at an all time high!! Then the Nav system chimed in "take exit to Disney world". Kids went crazy, and so did DW and I. I hit the repeat button 3 times just to hear it again.

Came in on Western way, it was so quite on the western side of Disney. Had the road to ourselves until World Drive

Pulled in around 12:30. Still fingers crossed for site 1514, the anticipation of getting our site number was killing me. Just ask DW

Directed to lane 1 where no one one was on line. After all the info was confirmed the CM handed us our paperwork....Site 1514...Excellent!! It was ready and she asked if we needed directions. Are you crazy. Does she realize how much research we did? (thanks to Dis boarders). Plus we did an overnight in a cabin back in Dec and staked the place out for bringing down camper.

Just as we were backing in Kenny called for the cart, he could meet us in 15 minutes. Figured the wife and kids could drive up to the entrance while I set up site. I didn't think that one through!! Forgot we were in FL in June and adding the Add a room. By the time they returned I had most of the camper set up...and I think I was crying for water at this point.

Didn't set up the 10x10 shelter till Tues. I have to say 1514 site IS huge. It gets morning and early evening shade but direct sun in afternoon. It does need more growth to the left of pad. I liked the look of site 1511 also.

1511 is the one with the tent, middle site (I think TCD ended up where the red truck is)

Didn't rain but 10 minutes during late afternoon. Another one of my wishes came true (no set up in rain). After a quick lunch we went for a some swimming (the kids favorite activity) then an early dinner over at the WL. We love this place too. Stayed here in 2001. Went to the RF and walked around reminiscing.

End of day and we feel the same way!!!

Next updates: the parks and relaxing at the fort.

I second that. Now where is my popcorn:: that's better:)
I third that! There's nothing boring about the Fort....only some moments are more laid back than others. ;)

You were very smart to go through Atlanta on a Saturday. I'm not sure there is worse traffic anywhere else than the traffic in Atlanta!

 Amen to that! The only place I've ever been where the traffic comes to a dead stop on the interstate for no apparent reason......for hours! :sad2:

Flash828: GREAT PICS! KEEP EM COMING!

I'm late to the party (again!), but awesome TR! I'm looking forward to more!
