Does Disney Springs have either a first aid station or an adult size changing table? I couldn't find one on the map anywhere. My daughter is Cathed every 3-4hrs and we love Disney Springs but its dehumanizing to have to cath her on dirty bathroom floors in Disney Springs. If there isn't one does anyone know how far of a walk it is to Saratoga Springs (where we are staying) just wondering if we could walk back to the resort or wait for the boat every few hours when we need to change her. (not really ideal)

In the parks themselves we use the first aid stations to change/cath her and that works out fine since there are no adult size tables in any of the restrooms in the parks.

Thanks in advance!

No there isn't one at Disney Springs. Any reason why you don't cath her on the toilet? When my girls were younger I cathed and changed them on the toilet until they got mitrofanoff surgery and could cath from their chairs into the toilet.

we are now using Spedi Cath compact set with an attached bag (sterile system) so on the toilet would probably be out of the question. We have never tried on the toilet though just doesn't work for us, and she prefers to be prone when she's cathed. We are hoping she shows the interest in being independent but that hasn't happened yet.

How old is she? My oldest had to be $ motivated at 10. I told her I would give her $1 everytime she cathed herself up to $20. My youngest had mitrofanoff surgery when she was 3 during another surgery and immediately started cathing herself.

She is 7 and Money is of no motivation for her. We will get there in time but we do not want to do any surgeries unless medically necessary for her.

I'm thinking we will just take her back to the hotel when the time comes. I just wish more places had adult changing tables or more counter space even.

I'm really sorry to hear that this is going to impact your time at Disney Springs - it's one of our family's favorite places to spend time when we are at WDW.

I encourage you to stop by Guest Relations when you are at Disney Springs, and give them the feedback that they really need to have at least one family/companion restroom with an adult changing table in it, and explain that it's not just for your families benefit but for many others as well.

Disney can't fix what they don't know is broken or missing; persistent, calm reasonable advocacy for things like more family/companion restrooms equipped with adult-sized changing tables may help get that accomplished, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I agree with mamabunny for you to stop at GS and let them know. coming from a guest hold more weight than others. they cant fix something that they don't see as a problem if not pointed to them. I say this from small park I work at.

I just wanted to say that it’s never easy to decide to do elective surgery.
I want to thank you and your daughters for sharing what it’s like to have a Mitrofanoff with my daughter and me. Talking with you helped make our hard decision so much easier.
The surgery itself went well; the recovery at home with a urinary catheter and a large dressing on her abdomen was hard. That was mostly due to her other disabilities - lifting and moving her around with a catheter and drainage bag attached was challenging.
But, it’s been 6 years since her surgery and I have to say it is the single best medical decision we’ve made so far in her life. Being able to easily catheterize her wherever we are has changed our lives so much for the better.

You are more than welcome it was nice meeting and talking. I've just recently started posting again. February 12, 2017 my oldest daughter died of sepsis. We still spend half the year 6 miles from Animal Kingdom.

@Michigan, I am so sorry for your loss.:hug:
Hugs to you and your younger daughter.

I had noticed you just started posting again recently.

@Michigan I am so sorry to hear bout your oldest daughter, sending prays and best wishes to you and yours. family.

The other question is how many hours do you want to spend at Disney Springs? Is 3-4 hours enough?
Can you bring a mat to put down on the floor?
