Anyone who has been in the first or second week of October, how were the crowds and weather?

Anyone who has been in the first or second week of October, how were the crowds and weather?

I was there the first week of October last year and the weather was still very warm (high 80s low 90s). We noticed a pick up in the crowds on the Thursday (10/7/2004) of Columbus Day weekend. I think a lot more schools have fall breaks that fall during the Columbus day time period. Everything was still doable though.

We were there at the end of Sept into early Oct in 1998. It was very hot & humid (just after a hurricane) and the crowd level was very low. As posted above, it picked up a little for the Holiday, but nothing terrible. I don't know if that year was odd weather wise or what, because it seemed hotter & more humid than our August trip..... I attributed it to the recent hurricane.
