Fireworks visable from Downtown Disney

Since it's only been 23 years since we were last at DL, California Adventure and Downtown Disney is all new to us. When we arrive on Sunday afternoon in September, we had planned to go check out the downtown area during the evening to get familiar with all the changes and hoping that they would have a weekend firework show (still not posted yet!). Are they visable from somewhere in the downtown area or is there a better spot to go without entering the park (don't want to waste one of our 4 day passes)?

There were several places you can see the fireworks in DTD. The only downsides are you cannot hear the show or see the castle effects. When we were there small crowds would form in DTD in areas where there was a clearing in the trees. Makes a good time to shop too as it draws people out of the stores. I loved Downtown Disney, I'm sure you will too!

Have a great time! :sunny:

Best spots are either between ESPN Zone and the parking lot, or in the Esplanade between the two parks.

Also try the top floors of the Mickey & Friends parking structure. Try to position yourself so you can see the Matterhorn through the trees so you can see Tinkerbell, for a few moments anyway.

I second the area between the entrance to the two parks. If you sit or stand in the middle, very near the large "California" letters you will have good view. You will have to go through the security check point but won't need a ticket to get into that area. I have never been able to see them as well as I would like from DTD, large crowds seem to gather in the good spots and the noise of the entertainment and the crowds walking and talking distract me. We saw them from the main entrance area twice last week and on the second time they did pipe the music in which was very nice. Enjoy your stay at Disneyland!

If you go over to the Paradise Pier hotel you can see it from the pool deck. They pipe the music in so you can hear it as well. Its not nearly as good as watching from the park and seeing all the effects, but better then most "free" views.

Don't you need a room key to enter the fenced in pool area of Paradise Pier's pool deck? Its been awhile since I've stayed there, it seems like you needed a room key to get in. If not than yes, this would be a good area with some nice seating. Also OP, depending on what hotel you are staying at you may be able to see them from there. Many of the hotels on Harbor have good views and all three onsite hotels have certain areas where you can see them.
