I'm thinking the answer to this is gonna be no, but is there anywhere in the DTD area with a decent view of the DL fireworks? We've watched from in the park and from a couple hotels, but never DTD. ???

In DTD it's really poor, you have many buildings and trees blocking the view.

There really isn't a great view. Best would be on the esplanade between DL and DCA close to the DCA gates. Many people sit on the ground and watch from there.

I have never tried it but possibly the top floor of the M&F parking garage would have a good view.

Actually, the top of the parking structure would probably be great. The fireworks get launched from just behind ToonTown in the backstage area. As a kid we used to go and park just behind Disney off Ball Rd near the Sheraton Hotel and watch the fireworks from there. It's pretty cool, because you end up practically right underneath them. And I really mean that. You should try that if you want to see it from a different point of view.

The best view I know of in DTD is in front of House of Blues. There is an open area and is usually a small crowd watching the fireworks there. I would say the view is pretty good, but obviously no where near as good as the park.

The best view outside the park is the roof of the parking structure. You can get a great view of the entire resort.

DW and I were just there yesterday and watched from the top of the parking structure. A few things to consider.

1) You do have a great view, but you hear none of the music that really makes the show.
2) You can see the fireworks launch from the castle as well as the larger ones launching from behind toon town.
3) They are super loud from there.
4) You can actually hear the sound of the fireworks as they leave the tubes and shoot into the sky. I liked watching the trail as the firework went higher and higher before exploding.
5) There is a little awning that hangs out over the edge of the top of the structure that obstructs the view of some of the highest fireworks.

It was also sort of fun to watch all the people leaving the parking structure stopping their cars to watch the fireworks. One guy just stopped right in the lane and turned on his 4-way flashers ... as if that made it OK somehow. Others were pulling over into the painted island area and some even got out of their cars to watch as traffic was whizzing by them on the other side of the "cones".

There are some longish breaks between fireworks at times so don't be fooled into thinking the show is over until you see the flurry that is the finale at the end.

You won't see any of the effects on the Castle from outside the park. But I found that for the overhead fireworks, the view from the area between Tortilla Jo's and House of Blues was actually very good.
