Fireworks viewing- outside the park?

Best place to view Disneyland fireworks from outside of the park??

Is it possible to get to Paradise Pier Pool Deck if not a guest of the hotel?

Fireworks can be seen from the Esplanade, from in front of La Brea Bakery in DtD, from in front of the Jazz Kitchen Express in DtD, from the lawn by the exit to DtD (on the ESPN Zone side -- just follow the sidewalk around to the end of DtD, there will be a grassy area on the side of the sidewalk -- you'll see other people waiting for the fireworks).

I would assume that all pool privileges are reserved for guests of the DLR hotels. Other posters may have more info. You could always call/email the PPH to see what they say.

You will not be able to access the pool area if you do not have a hotel room key.
Another viewing option is on top of the M&F parking structure.

If you choose to view from the top level of M&F, be prepared for many car alarms to go off. (This also happens in the parking lot of the Sheraton Anaheim -- great view, loud car alarms!) When we know we'll be viewing from the top level of the structure, we try to park accordingly so we can watch from inside our car -- this helps muffle the alarm noise somewhat.

Esplanade is a great place to see them (it's that open area between the two parks). A lot of people consider those the "nosebleed" seats LOL. you get a good view sans music.
