Fireworks viewing at hotels?

I really don't think they will be turned away at the Polynesian. Even though it gets crowded, I have never seen anyone turned away or asked to leave.

I would advise against parking there on the 4th. The parking lots were full last year.

Last year on the 4th they WERE turning away people from the Polynesian beach. As I told the OP in an earlier post, rather than the beach, the shoreline area between the Polynesian and the GF would be a good alternative area, as it's open to anyone.

Were you there? Well, I was and didn't see anyone asked to leave. The security guards stood there and watched people haul off huge armfulls of pool towels and chairs and didn't say a word. Judging from the huge number of people flocking to the monorail, boats and TTC afterward, the majority of people on the beach were not Polynesian resort guests.

I say go and have fun. I seriously doubt you will have a problem. :D

Nope, can't say I was, although several other posters have made it clear that they were and saw people being asked to leave. Perhaps this did happen, and you didn't see it.

We WILL be there this 4th though, but I'm not going to deal with it. We booked the Grand One, so we'll be out on the water watching in comfort :) Anyone want to join us?

I thought everyone in here was entitled to their opinion??? Guess I must be thinking of another posting board.

I was just stating information that was given to me by the Polynesian so I hope I did not say something wrong.

As far as turning people away. I was not there last 4th but I was there 3 in a row before last year and YES I saw people get turned away.

Besides the point I think it is crazy how easily people get upset in here on both sides of it. I myself have disagreed with people including ducklite but everyone is posting information they feel is relevant and I myself did not see how ducklite was making this a “social class” issue but who am I to say anything. I am sure my “information” was looked at as an inappropriate response and was full of assumptions. If so, I will not post any more information.

It is not worth the anger it creates.

Tikiman and myself and many others that post on these boards have been guests at the Polynesian on the 4th of July. It is not pretty sight.

I do not enjoy paying hundreds of dollars to be mauled on the beach by "hordes" of people using an area I have paid for.

That is not social class difference, it's simply I paid for it, I should be able to enjoy it without having to fight for a place to stand or sit.

If you are staying at Coronado Springs and have that wonderful pool. Would you be happy if hordes of people from All Star came over to swim and you could not even move in the pool.
The problem is people never try to see something from someone's else perspective. It's always about what is good for them.

As to dining at O'Hanas on the 4th. If you get a PS and you drive over the guard at the entrance will have your name on a list to let you in. You will be given a 3 hour pass. Same with the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary on the 4th. You will need to be a guest or have a PS to a restaurant. All the beaches have the same sign as the Polynesian. It's just one that gets overlooked.

Personally due to this problem I will never go back to the Polynesian on the 4th or probably any other peak time.

The Polynesian is no longer an exclusive, small resort. It has become an amusement park.

And I have seen people asked to leave on the 4th of July.

There are several areas near the TTC to view fireworks and this area is open to all.
