This is definitely good news for all you fans of fireworks. From April 3-April 17 there will be nightly fireworks. They will be at IOA only, and will happen around 950p. The best viewing area is as close to the Inland Sea as you possibly get. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I didn't care that we wouldn't be able to see the Mardi Gras parade, but was bummed by no fireworks. They were wonderful last year.

Now what would really make it a perfect vacation is if Mummy was in soft opening when we were at Universal in 12 days...

I'm renting the first Mummy movie to show my kids just in case.

One question. IF the ride was in soft opening, would they do a baby swap? My youngest son is not nearly big enough to ride, but the rest of us would love to since it will likely be years before we are back at Universal. :( How would this work just in case to lucked out?

Of course you could! You just can't use any kind of express during soft openings.

Lucky Lucky Luky..............Wish they would have fireworks in June but i guess with the 4th just around the corner they don't bother. Oh Well.......:(

Enjoy them!!!! ::yes::

The fireworks that we saw at IoA were some of the best we'd ever seen, especially the low ones. We have a very nice July 4th display near us and we could drive into DC and see an even nicer display, but the IoA ones were something different.

DM, thanks for the heads up on the baby swap at Mummy. I figured that would be the case, but wasn't for sure how soft openings work. IF Mummy were to have a soft opening is that something that we'd just need to head to the back of the park and find out? Any chance of an AP preview in early April (3-5) or do they usually give more notice on that? I'm not trying to bug you, but am so excited over just the possiblity. :teeth: :hyper: :hyper: :teeth:

Love fireworks! Wish they were going to have them during my stay (4/25-5/1). But, I'm lucky enough to be able spend 7 days on Universal property so really, what more could I ask for. :D

Is it the same show? I love the Island Blast fireworks.

Hi,

Please answer a stupid question from a first timer to IOA, where is the Inland Sea in IOA? I am so excited that fireworks will be displayed during our stay and want to get a good spot to see them.

Thank you,
Susan :D

There are no stupid questions, Pooh667.

Okay, that isn't entirely true. There's plenty of stupid questions out there. But the point is that wasn't one of them.

I'm assuming that the "inland sea" is the large body of water that the islands surround. Don't worry, it won't be difficult to find. In fact, the only way you could miss it is if you never leave Port of Entry.

-The Inland Sea is the lagoon in the center of IOA, and it is the same show as before.

-For Mummy, you would go there and if it's open, you get in line and wait. If it's not open, or closes at any time during the day, then so be it. Go expecting it not to be open, and if you get to ride, enjoy it.

Another good spot for IOA fireworks is the Porch of Indecision at Margaritaville. Sure, you'll miss the low-level effects, which are great, .... but at least you're being waited on while you sit!
Thanks DM!

Almost anywhere at CityWalk you can see the fireworks. But like it was stated before..you will miss some of the lower ones. A great spot is right behind Mythos. They have a spot over looking the lake.

We watched them from the Jurassic Park area, which was a nice place to hang out. And close enough to Dueling Dragons that I could run over and get my fix.

Forgive a question from a newcomer. We've only been to Disney and now we're taking our first universal trip 07/15-07/20 and then heading over to GF for 5 days. Are the fireworks done nightly at Universal? Is it at IOA? What time do they usually run? Do you have to be at IOA to really see them or would be able to see them from our hotel HRH? Any information would be extremely helpful. I wish Universal had a vacation planning DVD like Disney so I would feel a little more confident planning. Thanks again!

I've never been in July, so I'm not sure if they are every night.

The unusual low fireworks would need to be seen from up close. The area that we saw them was nice because there was a enough room for the kids to run around before the fireworks and a place for the tired parents to sit down.

I agree about the planning video. We have an old one, but I wish that they would put out a new one.
