Fireworks or Fantasmic First?

One of Hydroguy's tips is to see the fireworks the first night of your trip in case they are cancelled because of weather. This is our first trip to DL and we are arriving on Tues. Nov. 2 and leaving the next Sun. morning. Fireworks and Fantasmic both are only shown Friday and Saturday. Since we have seen Fantasmic at WDW, should seeing the fireworks be our first priority? I guess that's my weird way of asking if DL Fantasmic is that much different than WDW Fantasmic. Are the fireworks really cancelled that often? I had hoped to do the Fantasmic dessert package; I pay in advance and there's no refund if I cancel, right?
Thanks

Have you seen the fireworks in WDW too? Both shows are way better in DL.

And both in the same park DL. You can watch each in the same night if you try. But I would do Fireworks(RDCT) then Fantasmic (F!).

We've seen the Wishes fireworks at WDW, but it sounds like RDCT is completely different. Everything I've read here says Fantasmic is different at DL, but I'm not sure HOW different. I really hope weather permits for us to do both. Not sure when we'll have another opportunity to get to the West Coast.

So you think it's safer not to reserve the F! dessert package?

YES if the price seems ok, most people really like having done this. It makes it simple.

In that case you can watch the first F! show and watch RDCT from there.

That is also the main way you can sit in a chair with a good view and not on the ground for F!.

But for RDCT it is really key to see the castle and matterhorn, you won't from the F! dessert seats.

I'd really like to be able to see the castle during RCDT. I think I'll try to do the F! dessert for Sat., and hope that weather is good so we can see RCDT from somewhere on Main Street Friday night. Any pointers on a good spot to see them?

The best spot for RDCT fireworks at DL is right in front of SB castle around the Hub.

RDCT have parts of Wishes music in the beginning and the end. But instead of Jiminy Cricket voice for Wishes, RDCT uses Julie Andrews voice.

F! at DL is completely different from DHS. Both use the same music, but each show uses different scenes from one another. DL has the Columbia with Peter Pan & pirates, Ursula's Eels (Flotsam and Jetsam), and of course Maleficent (aka Murphy the dragon) better AA than DHS but always breaking down.

Yes RDCT is very different and frankly much, much better than Wishes. as Ski said you can do RDCT and F! on hte same night if you try. :) And do not miss World of Color! IMO the best of the three!

I've planned for us to do WOC earlier in the week. I was worried about weather messing up either RDCT or F! since they are only shown Fri. and Sat. I'll just have to hope and pray for good weather! I'll call tomorrow morning to see if I can get the F! dessert package. Thanks everybody for your help.
