We had Pirate Night on 2-25 and there was no fireworks. We stayed later in Nassau though so the crew could have shore leave. That made me wonder how in the world they could do fireworks while still in port at Nassau. I would think you would have to be out over open water.
Yes, I read somewhere also that the ship has to be so far away from land before fireworks are allowed.
I thought that the ship-off time from Nassau was being changed from 10:30 pm to something like 7:30 pm so that the ship would be far enough out to sea to do this?
We were there also, no fireworks, and when I asked our waiter, Gavin, he had no clue what I was talking about!!!
We didn't leave Nassau until 2:00am! It was nice.
Pirate night was a blast, but unfortunately my little guy fell asleep at dinner never to wake up! Didn't see anyone dressed up, it really didn't matter, they gave out bandanas that glow.
I don't think all of the crew are made aware of everything happening on the ship like the changes in the shows. We commented to our waiter about the fireworks that were going to happen the next night...only the second time on the Magic for Pirate night...and they had no idea that was going to be starting up.
