Fireworks on the beach would be such a fantastic touch...

Just doing some brainstorming today, and think that a fireworks show complete with Hawaiian music/atmosphere would be just incredible. I also think that it would give the resort a bit more of a Disney feeling as well - not every night certainly, but perhaps once a week?

Anyone else would love to see fireworks at Aulani - or maybe some other kind of night time entertainment ideas?

We actually saw fireworks when we were there! I think it was for the closing of the promotional video shooting at the Four Seasons. It was great timing b/c we were sitting around the fire pit waiting for Uncle's story, so we had a great line of vision plus comfy seats. Everyone at Aulani clapped, even though we knew it wasn't for us. :)

They have fireworks on the 4th of july and new years eve, but a weekly thing would be a bit much. There are residents in Ko Olina who live in neighboring buildings and on the golf course, I'm sure they'd have a ton to say about having weekly fireworks. Aulani is on land that's owned by a developer, and I know he's quite strict about stuff. Ko Olina is a much quieter area and feel than Waikiki (where they do have weekly fireworks), so I'm not sure a frequent spectacular show would be welcome.

Don't they still do fireworks at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki? They did when I lived there - it was on Friday nights.

I personally wouldn't want fireworks weekly in Ko Olina.

They do! We saw them when we were there in April. We stayed in the Ali'i Tower, which includes a complimentary appetizer/cocktail hour up on the second floor pool deck on Friday nights so it made for a really nice evening after site seeing all day.

When we were there in September 2013 Aulani hosted some culinary food fest in the Hawaiian Islands and there were fireworks that night. Best fireworks we have ever seen! Lasted 15 or 20 minutes and were on each side of the resort off the beach. They played typical Hawaii music during the fireworks, including the theme to Hawaii 5-0. And yes, they do still have fireworks on Friday nights off Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki.

I'm also not certain if I would like weekly fireworks or if the residents would be on board. I do know that the Ko Olina Marina does have a fireworks show on July 4th and I believe on New Year's Eve (I think some guests think Aulani does the fireworks show but it's actually the marina). I love that the fireworks did include the Hawaiian music as mentioned by previous post - what a perfect way to enjoy your Hawaiian vacation!

Does anyone know the approx time of the Hilton Waikiki fireworks?

I believe they are at 8 pm. You can see them from most any part of Waikiki Beach. I also think that they have some fireworks cruises on some of the catamarans leaving from the beach.

We plan to catch these while we're staying in Waikiki. I have in my notes that they start at 7:45pm (we'll be there in September). Does anyone have a favorite place to watch these? We're staying at the Marriott which I believe as at the other end of the beach from the Hilton.

I like the area in front of the Hale Koa. Their beach bar is cheaper than most drinks in Waikiki if you're interested, and it's right next door to the Hilton. Plus it's part of the beach where it's a bit wider so you shouldn't have any trouble finding a spot actually on the beach to sit and relax.

We were just at the Hilton Hawaiian a few weeks ago and the fireworks were somewhere in the 7 o'clock hour. Very fun end to the week!

Right there really is no reason not to add them...or maybe a water show or something to make that Disney difference.

I had a blast, however a weekly spectacular would be fun for guests to look forward to.

Since we are on this subject. I always thought they should buy the water park from Wet' N Wild. That could be an attraction they could highlight. I did hear rumblings about Disney purchasing Paradise Cove, but I don't think thats coming to fruition.

We're here right now, and I think fireworks would feel completely out of place here. It's a quiet area, and I get the impression that Disney have tried very hard to be respectful of that. I don't think the area needs to be turned into a mini-WDW. For me, the Disney difference you speak of is service and attention to detail, not necessarily big showy firework displays. I think it would look tacky.

I'm not sure how a once a week fireworks show constitutes a "mini-WDW".

I was following your other thread where you said Aulani 'needs' a dining plan - which I disagree with too. I feel like you're trying to say the things you enjoy at WDW are needed here too to make it feel like Disney, instead of just enjoying the resort for what it is.
