Ok, the highest I've ever gotten on this game is 240k. I've realized that i do the best when i silence the sounds (for some reason the music and the fireworks exploding distracts me) and then i put on a cd of my own. it really puts me in "the zone" and thats how i get 240,000. otherwise, if i am listening to fireworks music, or if i am playing to just silence i can only get 220-230k. i also check my progress at the end of every round, and this how i break it down: (this is how I HAVE to score in order to get at least 240,000 otherwise it's hopeless for me)

Fantasyland Stage 1: over 12,000
Fantasyland Stage 2: over 26,000
Fantasyland Stage 3: over 42,000

Adventureland Stage 1: 56,000
Adventureland Stage 2: 70,000
Adventureland Stage 3: 90,000

Tomorrowland Stage 1: 103,000
Tomorrowland Stage 2: 118,000
Tomorrowland Stage 3: 132,000

Frontierland Stage 1: 149,000
Frontierland Stage 2: 165,000
Frontierland stage 3: 185,000

Park View Stage 1: 202,000
Park View Stage 2: 218,000
Park View Stage 3: 240,000

I am breaking it down like this, because i notice that at the end of each level i see people with 45,000 after Fantasyland, 98,000 after Adventureland, 145,000 after Tomorrowland, 205,000 after frontierland so they are definitely able to get 240,000 and stop when they reach level 5 and I am just like, how do they do it?! my scores are way below theirs. so i was just wondering, does does anyone have any strategies? Like i've noticed that some shapes dissappear faster than others, so i try and click those first, and then the others. like the light blue snowflake and the red staurn, those dissappear QUICK!

That's what I do. I put in a CD I like (Aly & AJ, Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, etc.) and I will sometimes find the rhythm matches up with the fireworks.

A guide I made a few months ago...

Okay so here's all the fun tips I usually give players who are having trouble getting those higher scores. Hopefully this will help you get 240,000 which is the magic number (unless you are on the green car quest).

First off, you need a computer that isn't running slow. If the fireworks fly smoothly, then you're okay. If they are choppy, then you will have problems.

Second, your mouse needs to be good response-wise and the click sensitivity should be just right. You can adjust those settings in your computer's Control Panel.

Now for the actual game...

There are only four different patterns of the fireworks in terms of order in which they appear. Once you play enough, you begin to memorize the order. And even if you don't know the patterns, the order always stays the same. For example, if in one pattern the purple swirl comes out and then the red planet after, another pattern will have maybe the yellow star burst and the green circles. Whichever pattern, the two fireworks will always be three spaces away. So MEMORIZE the order of the fireworks at the bottom of your screen. That way you should never have to look at them. Also memorize the fastest way to get to each one. For example if you have the purple swirl, yellow starburst, pink triple circle, red planet and green circles...and you need to go from purple swirl to green circles, do NOT go through all the other fireworks by using the right arrow. Instead just move one back by using the left arrow. Faster you can move between fireworks, the better. Especially in the Tomorrowland stage, as that is where you have a lot of patterns where fireworks are three or more spaces apart.

When the fireworks come out, follow its path. Don't wait for it to get where it is going then move your mouse there. You will end up too late sometimes. Also do not put your cursor OVER the firework. Instead, leave it to the side or above. That way you can see it. Why? Because before it disappears, there will be a spark or twinkle. And it disappears usually a half second to a second and a half after that depending on the firework. Not counting the final firework you get, the blue star, the red planet disappears the fastest (a half second after the twinkle) and the pink three circle the slowest (almost two full seconds). Learn the timing and you'll be able to get flawless easier.

Sometimes more than one firework comes out at a time. It is better to get good than to miss. It is also better to get good and flawless than good and good or good and awesome. In the beginning, hit one fairly early, then wait to get flawless on the other. Once you have your timing down, try to wait longer and longer until you can get awesome and flawless. With practice, you will learn which you can wait to get awesome with and still hit the other before its too late, and which you have to get as soon as you can. Also, watch where the fireworks are going. Some patterns have them heading in the same place (even three can go to the same spot) and you can wait and get flawless on more than one.

Good peripheral vision I guess helps too. As you need to keep an eye on the next firework coming while still waiting for the previous to get to that flawless point.

Build yourself up. Don't try to hit that high score right away if you are not that good yet. Practice the first rounds as much as you can and experiment with timing. Learn each stage as you go.

And last but not least, HAVE FUN! If you're not having fun, it's not worth the stress. Hope this helps!

==========================

Here's a scoring breakdown to help you see if you are on track to get 240,000:

1:1 = About 12,000
1:2 = Between 26,000-28,000
1:3 = Between 39,000-46,000
2:1 = Between 58,000-62,000
2:2 = Between 70,000-75,000
2:3 = Between 89,000-96,000
3:1 = Between 102,000-110,000
3:2 = Between 119,000-127,000
3:3 = Between 134,000-145,000
4:1 = Between 157,000-163,000
4:2 = Between 177,000-185,000
4:3 = Between 180,000-208,000

180,000 is the lowest you can end Frontierland at and still reach 240,000. If you are at 205,000 and up and play at the same rate, you will most likely hit 240,000 by the end of 5:2. If you finish 4:3 with better than 208,000, you should be able to reach 280,000. I have gotten over 270,000 starting the 5th level with 205,000. That last level gives you the biggest chances for points if you can hit them right.

==========================

Some advanced tips...

Okay, the above guide was mostly made for players trying to hit 240,000. And as a little tweaking for those that get that high but want to squeeze a few more points out. The following are more tips to get even more points. I recommend mastering the previous tips first before trying any of this.

So you are stuck at a certain point line and can't seem to get past it? Well hopefully we can find out where you are losing some points. Many times those few points that can make a difference are during sequences with multiple fireworks coming out at once.

Let's use 1:2 as the first example. There are 2 times when 2 fireworks come out at the same time. Either two purple or two yellow stars. I'd say about 50% of the time, 1 of these 2 sequences has them come to the same spot, allowing you to hit both flawless. But for the other 50% of the time, you have to hit one then the other. As with my basic tips, make sure your machine is fast and mouse settings are good so that you can handle quick moves and clicks. This will only work if you are moving at full speed. The farther away the fireworks are from each other, the harder this is to do. Obviously you'll have to move the mouse farther and faster. Follow the first firework up until it gets to the flawless point. Even though they are out simultaneously, sometimes one comes out a half second faster than the other. Or it comes out from a higher starting point than the other. As soon as you click this first one, move over to the other and click as fast as you can. When you first try this, you'll need to work with getting awesome and flawless. But once you get used to it, you should be able to hit flawless both just barely. I don't do this technique often, unless I feel daring. And when I do, I am only successfull half the time. But as for the rest, I always get an awesome and flawless.

The next trick is when you have a wave of fireworks come out. The first time this happens is in 1:3 at the end. This one's actually tougher than most waves because you have to switch between 3 firework types. Many people get intimidated by these waves and just click as fast as they can. But this is just like any other firework coming out. If you wait until the first one gets to the flawless point, then click one after another for each that follows, you can get them almost all flawless. Just remain calm and keep in mind the order that each comes out.

Same goes for the end of the tomorrowland stage. That last wave of yellow fireworks...there's a big point difference between getting them all good and getting them all awesome and even more so, getting them all flawless. Be patient and wait for the first to get to the flawless point. At the same time, watch the others and remember the order they come out. If you time it right, you can just click one after another, each being flawless.

Another little tidbit for simultaneous firework releases is when you have 2 fireworks of different types come out. This is even easier to get flawless than if they were the same, because you will have different disappearance speeds. For example, if you have a pink and red come out at the same time, you can easily sit on the red and hit it when it becomes flawless and still have plenty of time to get back to the pink for another flawless. This is why in the basic part, I stress getting to know timing of the different fireworks. Sometimes in the natural order of movement you see the pink come out first and then the red. So you are tempted to hit that pink first. Yet it will be the red to disappear first. Hit the red, then the pink.

Hope this helps you advanced players out a little bit. And again, remember to always have fun!

I've been practicing most of the day today and got a pretty good score, but I need to get better in order to get the green car. I'll be trying tomorrow as well :)

wooo thanks for your help. some of these tips i already figured out but some of them really helped cuz i got 240k!!!!

This isn't a tip for getting the the highest score possible, it's a tip for getting as few points over 240,000 as possible. I discovered this by accident and am surprised I didn't think of it before. Assuming your score is very, very close to 240,000 and you have a lot of fireworks left... use the wrong icon and click near the bottom of the screen. Those OOPS scores are much easier to manage than using the correct icon! :thumbsup2

oh my gosh u r a genius! that is a GREAT tip. thank you so much! :cool1:

Very happy you can (at least I think) get 240,000 a little easier. My suggestion for you after this point, would only be to practice practice practice. Eventually your high score (for yourself) gets higher and higher, and you will be able to get 272,000 like me and 290,000 like other people ( :rotfl2: ) Well, good luck and keep practicing!

practice, practice, hope for an easy round, and practice.

sometimes I'll talk back to the screen when I get a tricky group of 3 fireworks and I manage to get flawless on all 3 of them, I'll tell the screen "haha, you thought you had me there. well I showed you! *evil laughter*"

oh, and I totally advocate doing a dance at the end of each level. keeps the game light-hearted and keeps you from getting too serious and critical. :thumbsup2
