Fireworks & Dinner at CRT

A few years ago, before it was a "character meal", DH, DS & I ate dinner at CRT and watched the fireworks from our table. It's one of our fave memories from the trip.

Well, I've booked dinner again for our late-1/08 trip, timing it so that we should be eating dessert during the fireworks. But I'm reading these yuck reviews of the food and cheesy show. I now have a DD but she'll be barely 2 when we go, so I don't know how much the lack of princesses will matter. I feel like it won't be a trip to WDW if we don't eat in the castle, & and I'm not willing to wait hours with 2 kids to get a good spot for the fireworks. Should I stick with the plan? Is there somewhere else kid-friendly to watch the fireworks, then maybe I could snag a lunch ressie for CRT? thanks for
any guidance

What a cool idea....I never even thought about that.

My DD was 2 1/2 the last time we went. Now, at 5 1/2, she still talks about her breakfast with the princesses. She and her sister (then 6) both dressed in their princess dresses.

Last time, we watched the fireworks from CG. They have kid friendly meals. My two loved the kids sushi desert. They both talk about watching the fireworks "from the sky". There were lots of families in there when we went. They both said they wanted to do that again this time.
