Hi everyone! So my sister and I and our four kids are headed to WDW during February President's Week. The kids are all youngish (6, 8, 9, 10). Whenever we went previously, Main Street was so busy that the kids needed to be picked up to see any of the fireworks (and I was always worried they would get stepped on). They are older and heavier now and there are four of them and only two of us so holding them the entire time is going to be hard.

If we booked the Fireworks Pre-Party, would they be able to see without being picked up? Is the area open enough that kids can move around to get a view between people? Or are you smushed in like on Main Street and unable to move an inch? Should we consider Seats and Sweets instead? Thanks for any and all advice!

You won't be smushed like you are on Main Street or in the Hub, but it still isn't so sparse that everyone has a great view. No matter where you are, someone taller might still be in front of you. You can try to get up to the front near the railing, but even then, smaller people may have a hard time seeing everything. Even if you find a "great spot" people swoop in at the last minute or stand and may block your view. You could consider the seated option, but you will be off to the side and may not be seated at a table with a great view. The only reason to book the dessert parties, IMHO, is to not be crushed, stepped on or trampled. You will get an ok view, but it's still not great and even less so for shorter people. If I were in your position with 4 kids and only 2 adults, yes, I would book one of these options. I traveled with DS alone a lot when he was younger - he has anxiety and I have claustrophobia so it was either pay extra for a less crowded area or not view the fireworks at all and be well away from the Main St. area during the time leading up to the fireworks. If you don't care about the projections, you could also see the fireworks from Fantasyland (just know, it's quite loud) or even see them from one of the MK resorts. You could also book Cali Grill for dinner and see the fireworks from there (it's gorgeous!)

Thanks for the advice! That helps a lot. Last time we saw them from the ferry back to TTC and I gotta say my boys were happy with that. Maybe I'll save a bit of money this time...

If they were happy with that and you weren't planning on staying in the park post-fireworks, maybe consider heading to Poly to watch from the beach or marina area? If you are parked at TTC, you can even walk from Poly back to TTC after the fireworks. The last time I was there I watched them from the area behind the castle near Peter Pan/Philharmagic and it was still beautiful.

We watched across from Sleepy Hallow and had a side-view of the castle but my 7yo niece and 13 yo nephew could see the fireworks unobstructed. We've also watched from fantasyland and back by HM. Personally, my days of watching from the hub or main st. are done. I can't deal with those crowds anymore.

You can watch from TTC as well. The music is piped in, and the view is pretty much straight on toward the castle. Plus, you’re ahead of the crowds exiting from the monorail and heading for the parking trams.
