Please can anyone tell me about the new fireworks at Universal, which I believe were introduced during this year.
Are they at certain times of the year?
We are visiting in May and wanted to know if we will be able to see them.
thanks

The fireworks are part of a show called Universal 360. It is shown every night(throughout the year) at 9:45 pm. Scenes from movies spanning the last few decades are projected on 4 story high globes that are floating throughout the lagoon accompanied by great fireworks, pyrotechnics and other special effects. Even with the major crowds now we were able to get a great spot to view them -anywhere around the lagoon. It is well worth it. My DD and DS loved it so much we stayed to watch the show several times. The show lasts about 15 min.
Have a great trip.:goodvibes

What if the park is scheduled to close early? I have looked at June and it cloese at 8 PM. I'd really like for my family to see this!!!

Universal said they won't know the days or times for the summer until March but they said it is usually 15 min before park closing. They are also not sure how long the show will be running for or whether it will be replaced by something new. I do hope you get to see it.

Basically if it's busy, they do the show. That usually means when they close at 9 or later. So Christmas, summer and such.

However, I wouldn't plan your vacation around this show. It's rather poor in my opinion. It has potential but it falls way short.

I just want to point out that Universal is only allowed to have a fireworks show a certain number of days per a year. Because of this I doubt there will be any in may. I am sure someone on the boards knows the actual number of days but its really not very many when it comes down to it so they only use them during really busy times of the year. The only times this year that come to mind are July, August and the end of December.

Must be October too because I heard the Halloween 360 fireworks twice every night.

It's usually the days the park stays open until 10pm.

Fireworks are usually Halloween Horror Nights, Dec. 26-Dec. 31, one or two weeks during Spring Break (in 2007, this will probably be April 1-8), and usually the middle of June through the end of July. These are just educated guesses from past years.

None on Mardi Gras nights?

Not in past years. There is the parade and the concert but no fireworks. I don't know if they plan to do fireworks this year or not though.
