Hello- my daughter graduated HS this year and her gift was supposed to be a trip for her and I to go to Disney Paris. She is a total DIsney addict and has a Disney bucket list. Because of Covid we had to postpone until who knows when. The only other Disney bucket item I am willing to do (all others involve visiting the foreign Disney’s , staying a night at the castle or getting escorted off HM in graveyard scene) is to eat dinner at watch the fireworks. I believe this can be done at the Contemporary? Is this a special event I could book or is it simply dinner at the perfect time at the perfect table I would have to hope for? Any suggestions for something guaranteed for viewing as an alternative like a rooftop somewhere? I would hate to book dining somewhere and have a table in the corner where she could t see the fireworks anyway. Tips/suggestions appreciated. Thx!

It's not a special event at California Grill atop Disney's Contemporary Resort. In fact, in the past you could actually return to the viewing area to watch the fireworks if you dined there earlier in the evening (you'd have to check to be sure, given any Covid changes that may be in place). Ohana at the Polynesian also has a straight on view of the fireworks, but it's across Seven Seas Lagoon, so further away. Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian has a view as well, but it's a lower angle. In addition, if you know a DVC member there's a viewing terrace atop Bay Lake Tower. So there are definitely a few choices in the area.

Ohana at the Poly offers good fireworks viewing. You have a better chance of seeing them while seated at your table at Ohana.
But, no guarantees anywhere.

How about staying at the Poly (for at least one night), having dinner at one of the monorail resort restaurants, then coming back and watching from the beach at the Poly?

We ate at Ohana once hoping to see the fireworks and they were mostly obstructed by foliage from where we were. Not sure how that is now.

For a view from the restaurant, probably try to time something at CA Grill.

some ideas that you can be certain to see them while eating Dinner while maybe not the best dinner id you stay at the Poly you can get a table earlier in the day at the main pool where they do in fact have service for QS type items but this offers a great view with low crowds. You can try to rent Yacht one although costly you will have a private amazing view with the ability to purchase an additional food option. You could always get food to go at the Poly and sit on the beach. The rest such as CG have viewing areas so you will likely will need to get up to see them. You could also have a room for one night with a fireworks view and get room service and eat on the Balcony.... If you want something guaranteed to actually eat Dinner while watching think outside the box otherwise you may be disappointed in what you get in the end. One more I can think of the tables by Speedway in MK itself having an amazing view where you could eat a CS meal and that area is usually empty at that time.

We have watched the fireworks at CG multiple times.About 1/3 of the time, we have a table by the windows and can watch from our table. The other times you go out to one of the 2 balconies to watch and listen to the music. Both are good. We almost prefer watching from the balcony.

Was about to type the same thing. We actually did prefer the balcony, assuming decent weather. It’s fun to see the castle and park while you eat—the Splash camera going off, Astro Orbiter spinning, etc. But something about standing up on the roof just seemed like a secret only a few folks were sharing and just made it that much more special. Plus you really feel close and can hear the shells popping (but not in that “omg was that a shotgun blast” way that you get back by the Fantasyland gates LOL)

A few years back DH and I had dinner at CG and had the ADR scheduled so we would be there during the fireworks. We would tell our server we were there to see the fireworks and each time they got us drinks, we went to the balcony to watch, turned around and watched the water pageant then returned to our table where our appetizers were ready for us piping hot.
Timing is everything!

There are so many tables at 'Ohana where you can't see the fireworks and even some large areas where you can't see them. Everyone wants to watch the fireworks from 'Ohana that they might be finished with their dinner and even dessert and linger at the table to watch the show. That leaves a lot of guests who booked close to the fireworks time sitting in the lobby waiting for their table. You might have a better chance of seeing them from Narcoossee's. Or if the dessert parties return, you can watch from the park while you wine and dine with desserts.
