I just bought dd7 a Firefly phone tonight. Can you disable the 911 button on the side? I'm just worried that if she bumps the button, or if it's in her bookbag and the button gets pressed in, that 911 will be dialed. :confused3

I asked my 9 year old and she said you have to program that button, so if you have not programmed it, it is not active.

I think you should just get a regular phone, firfly's are kinda annoying because you can't type numbers in without a computer.

I just programmed a whole bunch of phone numbers in directly on the phone. :confused3

Thanks, Michie!

MY DD also informed me that in order to place an emergency call, you have to hold the button down for I think she said 3 seconds, which helps prevent calling it by accident.

:confused3 Somehow she programmed that button for one of her brothers.

:rotfl: It's pretty funny when we have to ask our kids how to use today's technology. My dd15 had to show me how to use our digital cable. :rotfl:

DD7 also wants one for her Birthday coming up. SO glad to hear of someone else buying it for a young girl. I have mixed emotions about this..Not sure if she is too young, and almost never without us, but it is great to have..

I guess I will check it out in the coming weeks..

What is the package with this? Costs.?

Right now Target has it on sale for $50. You can either buy a monthly plan or you can do the .25/min thing. It came with 30 free minutes and you can refill the minutes online or buy the card in the store. The good thing is the minutes are good for 90 days before they expire if not used. They don't expire monthly. You can program up to 22 phone numbers and can control which numbers are allowed to call the phone.

Thanks Sillyme...I saw them at Lasenza girl, and so dis seh;) Too bad no Targets in my neck of the woods..

Thanks again.
