All of the TMs who worked there have been relocated to other venues, plus construction walls are up. It's going to be a while before the ride returns...

There was a vendor truck fire a few years back.

There was also the fire at Universal Hollywood, of course.

Kinda weird that it was a "water" ride that caught on fire, I realize it was a building but just saying. Hope its back up soon.

I was there this weekend. On our Saturday park map it was listed, the new Sunday one it was removed from the listing (though the picture is still in the map).

They print those every week, so it can be easily replaced, but I thought that was interesting.

No, there was a mechanical issue discovered by the manufacturer, nothing to do with a fire and no actual accidents happened.

I was there on 1/1 when the fire happened. We were in Harry Potter world just getting on the Hippogriff coaster. The smoke looked like it was coming up over top of the castle, so we kind of thought it was for effect...like Voldemort was attacking. Then when we got off we realized that something was definitely on fire! Very scary at the moment. Glad everyone was safe.

Any idea when Ripshaw will be operational again?

At the moment no.They are going to do an annual maintanace on it while its down.Universal doesnt know how long there annual maintanace takes, even though they have done it numerous times before. (That came frm the VP of public relations.He said the same thing with RRR.)

We were there this past weekend, and there was a crane set up behind the attraction.
