Was anyone at Epcot on June 24th? I just came across this video showing fire trucks in World Showcase. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nd4pNdci4qw There's something you don't see everyday! (Unless you count Innoventions, of course.) I was just curious if anyone knew what happened and where it was? There's some dispute in the comment sections of the video. Some say it was a small electrical fire and others say that it was from a construction workers cigarette.

Well, according to the director it was an electrical fire because of the smell. Sorry, I haven't heard anything about the fire. It sure was weird to see a firetruck driving by with the peaceful Epcot music loop playing though.

Yeah, I heard him mention electrical fire. That's likely what it was but I wonder where in FW exactly.

Its about time they got a new parade at EPCOT..... kind of short ...could use more characters.

Dude, I hope those fire trucks were leaving the scene. If they were arriving they sure were taking their time! lmaooo

hehe
I know even for fire alarm drills at two of the buildings at my uni campus multiple fire trucks come down the promenade (nearly running people over) so even if it was nothing....it is possible they came anyway???

But yeah....sounds like the beginnings of a new parade :yay:

The water fountain had a small eletrical fire. There was a thread on this way back when, but the monorail acident took over and the thread was lost pages behind. The water fountain was up and flowing a few days later.

Didn't the video show the fire trucks PASSING the fountains, and going towards World Showcase? :confused3
Or are you talking about some other fountains?

They didn't go into world showcase. It was the big fountain in Future World. It was a small fire. I think it was fully out by the time the fire trucks arrived. I'll have to go see if I can find the old thread.

The youtube video is on the first post of this thread, the one by Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Near as I can figure, the trucks went just to the right of the fountains, across from Club Cool. They appear to have stopped for a few seconds, then started moving again, but that is where the video ended.

I remember the video but when the thread first came around, more people had information on it. I just don't remember all the facts that well. I know it was very minor and was back up and flowing on July 4th. It's the exact details of the fire I don't remember, but it was in Future World.

DH and I were in Epcot that night! We came out of Spaceship Earth to a totally empty area. We had no idea what was going on; but I took the chance to take a picture of the Epcot ball at night since the area was empty. The flash got the attention of a security guard and boy did he yell!

We didn't know it was blocked off (which we assumed was for the fireworks...even though they are no where near that area)! We just came out of the ride (that stopped a bagillion times....perhaps that was related!)!

On the way out, we saw firetrucks. Glad to know the reasoning for the experience!

Here's the pic I snagged:
