Finished the Minnie 5k and now attempting the Princess 1/2 - Am I nuts!?!

Stacy, great job getting those workouts in and completing the W6D3! That is so awesome and no wonder you are losing weight with all this cardio and food discipline!

I got the Lean Pockets, very yummy, thanks for the suggestion!

Amy

P.S Sorry I called you "Amy" the other day, I apparently was a bit mixed up!

Well everyone, i am starting W7 today -- going to try to jog for a full 1.75 miles (last time i managed 1.50 miles of straight jogging) i figure with the 5k coming up, i need to add a lil each w/o if i can.. and get my miles/endurance up.
I am going to have one of those Snickers Marathon Bars (thanks Scott!) before i w/o..
I have to say, what totally surprises me, is with this program, i have never really had sore legs (knock on wood!!) after any of my w/o's -- or shin issues.
My legs already feel stronger (unless it's my imagination) after only a few weeks back on track..
And my clothes are definately fitting better too!

Sorry Stacie, you still won't see me in a running skirt though.. :rotfl2:

I will try to post later tonight on how my jog goes.. :cheer2:

BTW -- for anyone who cares, we just switched our hotel for the Minnie from POR to the Boardwalk! :goodvibes this will be my first time staying there, so i am looking forward to it!

Stacy,

Congrats on getting BW for the Minnie! I really love that resort...it's such a great location! :goodvibes

How did you run go today? You're doing great as you progress through C25K!! And your pace the other day on your 2 miler was excellent! It's always so rewarding when we can actually see and feel the results..better fitting clothes is such a great reward for all that hard work! :thumbsup2

How is your sister doing?

Thanks Amy! I haven't done my w/o yet, i have to wait til dh gets home, about 6pm. I am munching on my banana as we speak, and will have my snickers marathon bar about 5pm..
Now, my MIL has called again, and asked my daughter (yes, that's right -- she put this decision in the hands of a 7 year old!!!) if she would like the boardwalk, the YC (concierge room) or the GF!! LOL She is nuts ( My MIL i mean!)
I will keep you all posted to my lil' girls -- i mean my lil' princess'es decision! LOL
OF course when she answered the phone - and it was my MIL., one of my dd's first question was to her -- "Do they have room service?" LOL She is so spoiled!!! (She got spoiled on the DCL when the room service is free.. ) ;)

Does your MIL want to adopt a few more family members? ;) :lmao: My DH, my DDs, and I would love a choice like that!:thumbsup2 You'll have to let us know what your DD decides.:goodvibes

You are doing a great job, Stacy! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Have a great day tomorrow!

Hi Stacy!

Glad to see you like those Snickers Marathon Bars!! They are one of the few that I can easily stomach before doing the Sunday long runs. I just wish they had more flavors...this multi grain crunch with the layer of chocolate could get old by the time Goofy gets here :rotfl:

As far as the whole time vs. miles debate...I like how Bingham sets his plans up with the weekday runs being for time and the long weekend run being for distance. I don't think there is a right or wrong, just do what feels comfortable to you. I've been kind of switching up the weekday runs into some timed runs recently (I had reverted back to miles for each run) and it is a nice change of pace. How many times did i just use the word 'run'?? LOL sorry about that.

Hmmm....GF, YC concierge or Boardwalk....now there's a decision I'll never have to face :rotfl:

Hope you have a good evening!

Good luck getting those longer runs in, you can do it!

I love Boardwalk, haven't stayed at the other two. YC does have Stormalong Bay which would be very nice!

I hear you on the DCL spoiling you and your daughter. I still remember getting off that ship and going out to breakfast and having to remember to look at the prices!

Keep up the good work and thanks for the Crystal Light tip!

Hi guys!!
Thanks Scott for the tips -- i ate the Chewy Chocolate Peanut. It's not bad.. but i will have to try the one you are talking about.. :)

Amy, definately get the Crystal Light -- it helps so much!!

Well, last night i did W7D1, I managed to jog 1.50 miles straight before my first walk break -- then walked a couple min. then jogged more..all in all i did 2.0 miles in about 26:49 - then i kept going to add on more distance, i have just been mentally stuck at the 2.0 mile mark -- so, i added on .25 mile just to get to 2.25 miles total -- i need to increase my distance and endurance before the minnie!!

I think this W7 is going to be my most challenging both mentally and physically.. But, i know you guys are gonna pull me thru! :goodvibes
I am starting to think i need new sneaks too.. i got my current ones back in Sept. and they are starting to feel "worn".. Which i don't think is helping..

Today is my XT day -- so not sure what i am going to do.. I struggle with the XT b/c i don't have any other "machines" at home, and i don't belong to a gym.. and new dvd's just aren't in this week's budget.. So, i will probably do 30 min of yoga - i love how i feel after that.

As for the Minnie hotel decision, i think my dd has settled on the Grand Floridan. I have never stayed there -- so it should be nice.
My dd first off wanted the YC - but we are staying BC in Nov. so i guess she figured she would try someplace different.. and she loves the Monorail - so the GF would be perfect. We tried to get the Poly (our #1 Choice!!) but they are sold out.. :(
The interieor of the GF isn't my style, (too, uh, victorian for me) but the pools and such are nice, which is where i plan on being alot!! :cutie:
And truthfully , that clown slide at the Boardwalk is a lil' freaky to me.. :rotfl2:

Stopping by to tell you that you're doing an incredible job with W7. ITA that it's a tough week, but I admire how you're playing games with yourself to add distance. I do that kind of stuff all the time to get over my humps.

Do get a new pair of shoes. You need them, you deserve them, and you'll want to break them in before the Minnie!

And GF. Ooooh, you're going to have so much fun. I need your MIL!

Oh I am betting you will love the GF! I am like you, don't like the Victorian thing, but the grounds and pools look so lovely. I hope I get there someday too! I kid you not, that clown slide is freaky. Everytime one of my kids would come flying out of that thing, it made me feel ill. I kept thinking of that Stephen King movie...

You are doing so well, a challenge is good and you are handling it. New shoes are probably a good idea, you have put some serious miles on this pair!

The GF is a beautiful resort! I'm not much into Victorian themeing either, but the pools, the grounds, the location, and the views are stunning!:cloud9: You will have a great time!:goodvibes

Great job on your run, Stacy! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Ok, well.. here's my day. :cool2:

I don't want to say that i have "abandoned" the C25K plan, b/c it has DEFINATELY gotten me to where i am now.. however, i would like to think i just "modified" it to fit my needs. :rolleyes1

I am supposed to be on W7 - which is jogging for 2miles or 25 min. straight.
Well. That just aint happening. :rotfl2: So.. the other day (w7D1) i decided to try to do 2.25 TOTAL miles, (not strictly jogging) -- see b/c up til this point, i haven't gone past the 2 mile mark! -- back to the present -
So, i did it, by jogging and walking, and my time was one of my best..
So... i read another thread here on WISH that got me wondering..
Maybe i am pushing myself jogging too far to soon - so, here is what i decided to try today --

0.25 warm up walking (about 3.6)
1.00 jogging (about 4.7)
0.25 walking (about 3.7)
0.50 jogging (4.7-4.8)
0.25 walking (3.7)
0.25 jogging (4.7-4.8)
0.50 walking (4.6-4.7)

for a total of --- 3.0 miles in 43:28!!! Which would be definately under the 15:00 mile requirement for the 5k. :woohoo:

So, i think i am going to stick with this plan, and do this same w/o on sat or sunday,
Then, slowly start increasing my distance and jogging vs walking.. I have 4 weeks to do this and improve my time and my overall time spent jogging. But, i am confident that if i stick to my new plan, that i can cut more and more time off and jog more and more..
I am just THRILLED that i did the 3.0 miles and didn't feel like i was going to drop after! :thumbsup2
And to already be under the minutes, i can only improve that time right?? :confused3 :thumbsup2 :cheer2:

So, i think i am going to stick with this new plan and see how it works.. but i am feeling a new sense of accomplishment. :goodvibes

BTW-- eating has been GREAT too!

Great job Stacy! Your new plan sounds great, I really admire the way you tweak this thing to make it work for you. And if your food is great too, well that is all around success!

Oh, and that Dottie thing I mentioned is a website run by a WW member named Dottie. She has quite a site with lots of success stories and tons of restaurants (full service and fast food) with the WW points computed for you. Constantly being updated and maintained. I love that site. Its rare I can't find the restaurant I need to know about from that site. If you do go to it, just make sure you use the points values in red. Those reflect the way WW points are figured now as opposed to the old way. They are generally a bit higher than the "in black" point values. WW used to figure in points using a different system. She has it both ways but I think we might as well use the current system.

Great job coming up with a plan that will work for you, Stacy!:cheer2: You are going to do a wonderful job at the 5K!!!:cheer2:

Hope you have a nice weekend!

Have a great weekend Stacy and I hope today was a good one! Thank the high heavens its Friday! How's the new job going, are you sitll liking it? Hope so!

I am so happy! I just did my best time ever! :cool1:

I did a walk/jog combo for 3.0 miles finishing in 41.12 -- which beats my time on Thursday of 43.28! I am so happy!!
So, as i have said before, this is my new plan, stepping aside from the C25K plan, and forming my own. :goodvibes

Tomorrow, i am going to try to ask my mom if she will lovingly help me buy some new sneaks - they just aren't in my budget due to saving for WDW - so, i decided to suck it up and ask good 'ol mommy..
Hey, i don't ask her to buy me clothes or shoes ever, so i think she will be ok with it -- and i would love to see her get some for herself too -- she needs and deserves them too.. Now...... how to plot my plan.... :rolleyes1 LOL j/k i am just gonna come out and beg ('er ask) her.. :goodvibes

Hoping for a break in the weather tomorrow, so i can get out and do some raking in my yard -- gotta go see what is still around from last years plants.. LOL

DH decided he wanted to go to Papa Gino's pizza for supper tonight -- so, i hit the TM earlier than usual to be able to eat a lil' later.. I am going to get something with chicken though -- for protein. Usually, when i use to go there, i would always eat buff. chicken and breadsticks - but NOT this time!! I am doing SO well with my food, that i am not going to ruin it. :cool2:

Amy, thanks for the well wishes, and yes, i still :lovestruc my job -- it is great. And i found out my summer hours start on fathers' day weekend, so i will only be working from 9-12 (as apposed to 9-2) M-Thur and have fridays off (as apposed to working them) - and get paid the same! So,i am going to buy a pass for the Newport Beach and hit it everyday after work with my dd! :cutie: Can't wait!! I WILL have some color before my Sept. double dip cruise!! (oh, and look alot better too!!! ) :dance3:

Well, I went shopping with mom yesterday.. :goodvibes Got:
2 new pairs of sneaks (one for running, one for everyday)
1 tank top
2 sports bra's
1 bathing suit (*gulp*)
2 pairs of shorts

Trying to decide what exactly i will want to do the Minnie in -- i tried to tell my mom that we should find some minnie pj pants and chop them up -- and wear those -- :thumbsup2 Where else can you have fun with what you are wearing while your running?! :wizard:

Tonight i am doing 3 miles, i will let you know how the new sneaks do!

Sounds like you had a very successful shopping trip yesterday, Stacy!:thumbsup2

I hope your 3 miler goes well for you tonight.:goodvibes Have a great Monday!

Hi Stacy,

How did the 3 miler go? I hope it went well for you!:goodvibes

Have a great Tuesday!

Well, lets just say, i tried. :lmao: I put on my new sneaks (which are "Easy Spirit" brand - btw) and i just couldn't get into it - i really didn't care for the new sneakers - i think they probably make a great "normal" sneaker, but not a great running sneaker.. i felt like my shins were actually hurting - i pushed on to 2.1/2 miles, but then quit. I was bummed.. but hey, whatcha gonna do?

So, i called the store about returning the sneakers, and cleaned up the bottoms (they are supposed to be "unworn") :rolleyes1 And put all the packing stuff back in them.

Then this a.m. i met my MIL at my dd's bustop as ususal, and was telling her about the sneakers - she is an avid walker - and we wear the same size, so she said she wanted to try them on - since she also needed a new pair - so i gave them to her to try out in her house today - and she called and liked them, and is going to buy both pairs off me, so she will be giving me $90 tomorrow when i see her (the running shoes were on sale for $70, and the others were 1/2 off - so they were $20) .

So, all worked out - and now on Fri. night i am going shopping with my $90 with my sis, and we are going to a specialized foot store - that actually puts you on a treadmill and measures your foot and all kinds of stuff - they specialize in running/walking sneaks.. and my sis has bought from them in the past.. so i am excited! :yay:

i may jump on the TM again tonight and see what i can do in my old sneaks.. I just feel bummed that i only did 2.5 miles last night - and it wasn't my best effort either. Although, tomorrow is supposed to be about 60 here, so i am thinking maybe i should wait and go outside tomorrow... not sure yet. :confused3 I am just liking the TM b/c i can keep track of my timing and pace and all that jazz.. so, we'll see.
