How long does Disney hold on to your finger scan and associate it with your account? Do I have to (God help me) remember which finger I used to scan in on my last trip to the parks (2016)?? Or does each trip have a new finger scan to associate with it?

Stupid question, I know.

Your biometric scan is not linked to your "account", or to a MagicBand. It is associated with a specific ticket or annual pass. It will reset when you first enter with a new ticket or pass.

I’m glad you asked this, I was wondering the same question!

I too forget things like where my glasses are, when they are on top of my head, or hanging on my shirt collar.

To combat this, I am a creature of habit, always doing things the same exact way, so it becomes a force of habit, and I then don't have to remember. I always park in the same area of the parking lot when I go shopping, this goes for every place that we shop, so that I don't forget where my car is.

At Disney, I always use the same finger to scan, every time. It is my right pointer. It is the most comfortable, natural feeling to use, and I never forget which finger, because it is always the same one every time we visit.

I use my right pointer too.....you do need to use the same finger every time

Don't worry. I have had annual passes for years and my finger scan never works. They always tell me to try different fingers, so that's what you could do. Most times a CM has to come and see my ID. Some CM actually know me at this point and they have my picture in the system. One CM told me that some people's fingers just don't work.

Long story short not to worry they will help you.

Enjoy The Magic!!

You need to use the same finger every time you enter with the same ticket or annual pass. If you visit with a new ticket, you can use any finger you like the first time you enter with that ticket. Then the same finger for however many days that ticket is good.

The scan is not connected to your account. Just the admission media.

This. I need to use the same finger I used for my non-expiration tickets from 2011 but when I get new tickets or a package I select whichever finger I want.
