"Fine! We can go to Disney, but I'm not happy about it!" **08/21 X5** Complete

I am totally with you Marie. I too refuse to wait for anything over 20 minutes most times since I've just gotten so use to shorter waits. September should be similar I think.

I did not hear about the FP+ system going down. But I wonder how many people kept their paper ones this time just for the souvenir.

I think they definitely alter the water flow depending of the time of year, which is a good call obviously.

OK... I'll let bypassing County Bears slide... this time...

My theory on the waits for Pater Pan is 1. It's a classic. But much more than that is 2. It has really low capacity (i.e. the # of riders per hour is surprisingly really really low).

My goodness, just a wonderful morning in MK.

I'm hoping so! Some people are freaking out a bit because hotels are booked up more than they normally are, with having extended the F&W Festival to the last week of September and combining it with Free Dining, but I guess we'll see what happens. After all, not everyone can just switch original plans around at the drop of a hat

Yeah, everything was down, meaning they were handing out the paper ones instead, but not based on original FP+ reservations since they had no access to those anymore. So if people slept in with the expectation of just being able to go in and ride what they had planned, they were in for a bad surprise if all the return times had already been handed out. Also, poor CMs who had to spend their entire days getting yelled at in Guest Relations. But I'm sure some people did keep theirs - not to mention, the expiry date on them is actually December 31st (not for any time of week, but for example, it'll say ToT 8:35 - 9:35 pm, expiry December 31st)

That's what I was thinking, because that time around we hardly just got sprinkled, but in May, we were pretty much soaked, especially our two friends in the front

We'll do it in September, promise!

And that makes sense actually. I never thought of the fact that it would have a low amount of riders per hour, because it's one of those rides that just constantly files through, but then, the building itself is fairly small, and the way of the ride doesn't really allow for that many ships at once, or for it to go that fast either

It really was! It was a great day all over, honestly. We got sooo much stuff done that day!

November 17: Part 5 - "I gotta show that I beat you!"

With Amber's pretzel consummed, we headed over to get our next set of FastPasses.

112_zps1426b342.jpg

You know, I'm finding some good sides to FastPass+, but I still miss these, and how easily you could get more later in the day for practically any given ride.

Seeing as we obviously had some time to kill before our riding time, we decided to do a few repeats around Tomorrowland, starting with the PeopleMover - because that's really the best ride in Magic Kingdom, dontcha know? ;)

113_zpsce8e264e.jpg

114_zps08fe5a3c.jpg

Next up was the Laugh Floor!

115_zps4db32d95.jpg

116_zps37ebaefd.jpg

Honestly, it's just always my favorite thing ever to walk into a queue and feel immersed in the universe of whatever ride or show I'm headed for. If my heels and lower back didn't react so badly to standing for long amounts of time, I'd love queues just as much as rides.

118_zps6034e1fc.jpg

119_zps24f2066c.jpg

Once we were done giving enough laughter to power the exit doors opening, we left the Monsters Inc universe and headed over to make us of our earlier on acquired FastPasses for Buzz Lightyear!

And because I'd taken a picture of mine and Amber's scores on Toy Story Midway Mania earlier that week (at which points I'd beaten her), she decided to turn the tables around and do the same. So on this picture, you can see my score on the left.

121_zps024b8bf5.jpg

And this is Amber's score.

122_zps3cf7c37a.jpg

I just can't with this game.

Yet I'm always so focused.

123_zps0b5690d1.jpg

I don't know what it is.

With no plans for anything else in Tomorrowland for the time being, we headed back over to the hub area and came across the Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade!

124_zpse0d8993d.jpg

Amber misses it - although we really only ever saw the whole of it once.

As it was heading off toward Liberty Square, we decided to cut through the Castle area.

125_zps07577092.jpg

Always so pretty, no matter the angle.

126_zps3eae0a99.jpg

And then we went ahead and did the walk through - though admittedly, we had no idea there was anything to see in there, so we were pleasantly surprised.

127_zps351a94cb.jpg

128_zps01b38563.jpg

Don't you just love those? It's just so pretty and meticulous. Like everything else at Disney, I guess!

129_zpse859ac8e.jpg

130_zpsa8c2e068.jpg

Honestly though, they should sell replicas. Why haven't they thought of that yet? I'm sure they'd make lots of money on it. Hire me Disney, I've got ideas!

131_zps2f8c2a9f.jpg

We headed around toward Liberty Square from the other side of the Castle.

132_zps2aa18af9.jpg

133_zps84d97e61.jpg

134_zpse752f8cd.jpg

Only to come across the parade again!

135_zps8d4a55cc.jpg

136_zpsce5a65ef.jpg

In hindsight, I don't remember what the logic was there, what we were trying to do, and how we though this would work for us. I think we were actually trying to make our way into Adventureland, and we though maybe we'd beat the Parade at one of the crosswalks in Liberty Square, but ultimately didn't. Which ended up giving us our first glimpse, though not from the best view, at Celebrate A Dream Come True.

November 17: Part 6 - "Celebrate A Dream Come True!"

And of course, regardless of view, if I see a parade, I gotta take pictures!

That's right. I'm gonna be one of those moms. The kind that has to get a picture of everyone in front of everything because it's pretty.

137_zps2c455262.jpg

Mary Poppins!

I have to admit - I like this Parade, the music is catchy, the floats are snazzy and I like the dancers' costumes (and I'm sure they did, too, with how light they appeared to be, which must have been godsent on hot summer days).

But I just... don't get the combinations.

140_zps7592e810.jpg

I guess, ultimately, Peter Pan, Wendy, Alice and Mad Hatter on the same float isn't the weirdest thing ever. Or at least, not as weird as having a float that combines Dumbo, Aladdin and Mary Poppins. Because they all fly? That's the link I'm making here.

141_zpsbffb649b.jpg

Fairy Godmother! We have yet to meet her, and hopefully it'll happen this coming September! Of the characters that are out and about in the parks on a daily basis, I do believe she's one of the only ones we have not met, especially if we don't count the ones we've always willingly passed up (like King Louie and Baloo. Sorry, not Jungle Book fans here)

142_zpsb285680c.jpg

Prince Charming and Cinderella, looking pretty good. Really, even though we were backed up behind a few rows of people, I'm fairly pleased with some of the pictures I got. Thank you, zoom.

143_zpsb05b7c3a.jpg

Oh, Beast. We have yet to meet Beast. But that's because you can only meet after Be Our Guest dinner and not only can we not justify its cost, we can't score a reservation for it. Oh well, whatcha gonna do.

144_zps9b35ddad.jpg

145_zpsb7690f10.jpg

146_zps611207f2.jpg

We waited a few more minutes for the parade crowd to dissipate being crossing over into Adventureland.

147_zpsc469c283.jpg

Ducks! Disney ducks are the best.

Once we were finally able to go through, we headed over to the reason of this whole trek, although delayed.

148_zpsfef3d40c.jpg

That's right! We did all of this for a snack! And which snack, may you ask?

149_zps9eb4b2b2.jpg

A Dole whip, of course! I got the vanilla and pineapple swirl float, because getting all pineapple, or even pineapple and orange, seemed like it would be a little overwhelmingly sweet. And I don't know if it would have been, but my pick did not disappoint.

150_zps7810f64b.jpg

Getting a picture of the FastPasses we got before leaving Tomorrowland area. We didn't stick around in Adventureland too long, as it is, because we'd really just headed over there so I could get my Dole Whip, so we soon made our way back toward the hub.

152_zps677d7897.jpg

We had to take some pictures of these guys!

153_zpsfcd7630e.jpg

We'd gotten Amber with Pluto on the first day of the trip, but we'd bypassed the other ones, which was something that clearly needed to be remedied.

154_zps318f4afb.jpg

156_zpsf2b409ff.jpg

Of course, we had to get Walt and Mickey as well, because they're the focal point of this whole area!

157_zps7181690a.jpg

And a nice sir offered to take our picture together after seeing each of us pose individually in front of the statue, which we gladly accepted!

160_zps0af9699b.jpg

Finishing up the round.

161_zps8fe83c92.jpg

162_zpsc86e1ecb.jpg

163_zpsce01128e.jpg

I think Dumbo is one of my favorite of those.

164_zpsd5edc313.jpg

Though, Chippies!

Getting those pictures killed enough time for us to make our way back over to ride Space Mountain, so we didn't lose any more time and headed right back into Tomorrowland!

165_zpsae33644d.jpg

We were lucky, too, because it had just gone back up as we made our way along the queue (which was lit up), and it went down again not too long after we were done riding it.

November 17: Part 7 - "Can we get a princess wand, too?"

We got off Space Mountain and headed over on the moving walkway. Now, I have to mention something unrelated to this trip - in May, we were actually inside Space Mountain, right around the area where they send you left or right, when the ride went down and everyone was sent back out (with return tickets). And let me tell you this, in case you didn't know - a moving walkway is only useful if you move along with it.

Honestly, the amount of people I heard talking about how it was dragging and going so slowly - when there were dozens and dozens of people just standing on it, letting themselves be dragged along. Which, when there's a small flow of people, works just fine. Not so much when it's the whole queue that's just been evacuated.

Though, magically, people started walking along as they reached this specific area.

167_zps322587ed.jpg

Funny at normal times, congestion zone in large crowds.

Also, I'm terrible at timing the picture to take at the right moment.

168_zps8eb32978.jpg

We looked around the store for a few minutes, as it was raining outside at that point. We did have a dinner reservation though, and so soon enough, we had to go ahead and brave the rain.

With ponchos.

169_zps5d6169ed.jpg

Don't we just look great?

170_zps2ee759c0.jpg

It really becomes us. Side note - I hate ponchos. Not as much as I hate wet clothes, but still. Those ponchos from that first trip weren't so bad - but the October trip, God did I hate those ponchos. They were like saran wrap.

Thankfully, the rain wasn't too heavy, and we didn't have to go too far.

Because we were eating at Cinderella's Royal Table!

171_zpsb4705a5f.jpg

172_zpseafa7d34.jpg

So much pretty.

We got our picture taken with Cinderella - which, we received during the meal, but somehow we just never ended up scanning it or putting it on the computer. It was a decent picture, and she was a nice Cinderella. Nothing very memorable.

174_zpsfb6549e7.jpg

We were called up maybe fifteen or twenty minutes after checking in.

175_zpsd89aeb8f.jpg

We were sat a table that was a bit off to the side - not the outside section exactly, but by a small wall that separates the inner and outer sections.

176_zps9020c5c5.jpg

Such pretty menus, even.

177_zpscdd3d1f3.jpg

Couple picture time!

178_zpsf14e649c.jpg

179_zps811bcf39.jpg

Picture of the menu options - I'm still so upset they pulled the fried chicken just before we went. And put it back on the menu like, two months later. Like, what? Fried chicken isn't 'fall' enough for your menu? Honestly.

180_zps0a0743a7.jpg

Bread was first to come to the table - yay!

182_zps6881cec7.jpg

And we even got our prince's sword and princesses' magic wands!

183_zpsdf79c2c0.jpg

184_zps5838c700.jpg

Trust me when I say that I was unreasonably excited about those. I actually asked the waitress about them, because I was worried they wouldn't give them out to a table of grown ups. We've actually donated one of those wands now, seeing as there was no sense to having two for Amber and I.

November 17: Part 8 - "We'll make a wish, and do as dreamers do"

Soon enough - and thank goodness for that because we were more than ready for food! - our appetizers were brought out!

My Uncle got the Royal tasting of cheese, which he very much enjoyed seeing as he's a big cheese fan.

185_zps84e849af.jpg

My Aunt got the Castle salad, which she also liked.

186_zps743e598c.jpg

And both Amber and I, picky that we are and as such finding little interest in any of the options, went for the soup of the day, which was a beef barley soup.

187_zps3133c27e.jpg

I'm personally not a big fan of soups (or vegetables. I know, the shame) so I didn't eat a whole lot of it. Mostly fished around for the beef chunks and called it good. Amber did a little better than me, though she didn't finish it either, but mostly to leave room for the main course.

Our empty (or partially empty) appetizers plates were taken away to make room soon after for the main course!

My Uncle got the grilled pork chop, with sweet potato puree, which he was very happy with. He offered us all a taste because he was that much of a fan of it, and when my Uncle likes something, he wants everyone to try it. I think my Aunt took it up on it, but I had enough with my own plate!

188_zpsbdf9db1d.jpg

My Aunt and Amber both got the beef tenderloin with roasted fingerling potatoes. I believe my Aunt was satisfied with it, though she couldn't eat it all. Amber liked it well enough, though her exact words are "it's no Mama Melrose steak". She really has something with that steak.

189_zpsa2f0314c.jpg

And I got the grilled chicken pasta! With none of the listed vegetables. I'll admit it - even I was a little ashamed when I asked the waitress to leave it all off. However, it was still a delicious decision, so I don't regret it at all.

190_zps4be01126.jpg

Finally, it was time for the desserts to be brought out!

Amber went for the flourless chocolate cake, served with a white chocolate custard.

191_zps53879241.jpg

She wasn't the biggest fan of it. She doesn't like the consistency of flourless cake, which she found out at that very moment, and custard isn't high on her list of favorites either, so the dessert fell a little flat with her.

My Uncle went for the pumpkin cheesecake, which he pretty much raved about. Clearly, this meal was a big hit with him!

193_zps1a9f320e.jpg

And both my Aunt and I went for the Chef's dessert trio, which was a combination of all three things mentioned above - a small serving of flourless chocolate cake, white chocolate custard and pumpkin cheesecake.

192_zps452a6ac8.jpg

I personally enjoyed all three, as did my Aunt. Though, the cheesecake itself wouldn't have been a bad decision either I'm sure.

And of course, throughout the meal, we did meet some very lovely ladies!

First was Snow White, who was very sweet. Poor girl had a red marker stain on her skirt from a previous table meeting, but clearly that did nothing to her spirit :P

195_zps8ed0e76c.jpg

Now, my Uncle was set on not getting any more princesses pictures, so instead of having my Aunt pose alone, he told me I should take the pictures with her, which I complied with.

196_zpsbfb36080.jpg

Next up was Aurora!

197_zpscc37eb9f.jpg

God I'm glad she got (or is getting soon, I can't remember right now) her redesign dress back.

198_zpsa5678c77.jpg

Then came Jasmine.

199_zps9323165f.jpg

She seemed a little off for Jasmine, but obviously they can't all look the same. She just seemed a bit... past the age range, let's say.

200_zps18a5db15.jpg

And last, but certainly not least, was Ariel!

201_zpsd97e1438.jpg

She was definitely my favorite of the meal. She was so precious, even my Uncle couldn't turn her down!

202_zpscf2190ef.jpg

To be fair, he's always had a weakness for redheads (which my Aunt was in her youth, no worries).

Our meal completed, we made our way out of the dining room and made a stop by the bathrooms, which I promptly took a picture of the door because look at how fancy it is?

203_zps49cb194d.jpg

Only to find out afterward my Uncle had the same thought!

204_zpsc4c15a21.jpg

We parted ways once more for the rest of the night - at that point, Amber and I headed straight for the hub area. It was still a little while before Wishes would start, but we were determined to have a great spot that time around! So we just stood there for a little over an hour, waiting for the show to start and chatting and just trying not to feel too sad about the fact that it was our last night.

Of course, I ended up crying during the fireworks. It was just so magical again, and so bittersweet at the same time. Obviously, the music doesn't help either - the rise at the end always just about squeezes my heart.

The park did have Extra Magic Hours that night, so we did stick around a bit later - of course, originally with the intention of staying until the end of the night.

205_zps7be0cc7f.jpg

As it turns out, we were of course a lot more tired than we'd originall anticipated, so after a bit of walking around, we ended up going for our last attraction of the night.

206_zps2af71365.jpg

PhilharMagic seemed like the perfect way to conclude our Magic Kingdom visit!

207_zps69c81f67.jpg

Goodbye, Main Street. You've been very lovely to us, and we're very much thankful for it.

Morning came, and although it was a beautiful day, it was still rather gloomy with the knowledge that we were leaving.

Having packed the night before, we just had to get dressed, put a few last minute things away and head on our way out to check out.

001_zps24e1bd79.jpg

Sad faces because we're leaving.

002_zpsed8c79f3.jpg

Everyone has a sad face.

004_zps2f12b594.jpg

Waiting for the Tragical Express to take us back to the airport.

003_zps20597d50.jpg

We ended up getting a Disney Cruise Line bus again.

005_zps4f13ce73.jpg

We got to Orlando airport several hours before our flight departure, because for International Flights the Magical Express arranges to get you in three hours before flying home. Checking in and going through security went by pretty fast, and we ended up at the gate with a couple of hours to spare.

006_zps134aea9c.jpg

The flight home went without any issues, and we landed back into the cold and Disneyless airport of Montreal. My dad picked us up, and we went over the whole trip, pictures and souvenirs, with my parents as soon as we arrived home.

I'm not entirely sure how to conclude this - it's been so long now since this trip! And I've been so very bad at updating it, I know (though at least I got it done before its two years anniverary!)

Still, so many things changed since that time. When we originally went on our very first Disney trip, we had no idea when we would even be able to go back. Since then, we've gone back twice, and are preparing for a fourth trip this coming September.

Honestly, I'm glad I found this community, because I don't think there are many other people that could understand the amount of happiness Disney brings us. It's our happy place, and we just know we'll never get tired of it. We may not be able to go as much as we'd like once Amber starts school and we finally move out, but we'll always find our way back.

Thanks to everyone that's followed along with me! I know it's been a long ride, but I'm happy if you shared it with me!

In the meantime, feel free to check out my wife's completed TR for our October 2013, and our ongoing TR for May 2014, both of which you can find a link for in my signature!

See you real soon!

I'm so proud of you for finally finishing :P

Good job.

And hey, that Mama Melrose steak is no joke. It's amazing. You know I could eat it all the time.

I don't know why I find it funny, but I love your reasons for not doing BoG dinner. Expensive and we can't get a reservation. Which means you tried to get a reservation regardless of the cost. :rotfl:

For what it's worth, while I haven't ever eaten at the Royal Table, I would not be leaving without a wand. Guaranteed.

I'm so glad you were able to finish Marie. I know a whole a lot happened between now and when this report began so the fact that you came back to finish up should be commended.

Well, we tried to get one when we went in May, figuring we'd give the girls the experience :P We actually did get it, at like... 4 something. We ended up deciding lunch would work just as well XD

Word. That wand is the whole reason I'd eat there again ;)

Thank you ^^ I'm glad you enjoyed it and stuck around!
