Finding the magic and fighting the fear: France school holidays?

Hi (:

I guess I'm a long term lurker and newly signed up member because I've seen how lovely and how sweet people are answering various questions for others so I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out.

A few weeks ago I decided I needed to do something happy and positive so I booked a trip for myself to go to Disney Paris. I'm twenty two now and it's been a long time since I last went, but I'm taking my mum along with me. Thing is, I've just looked at something and it's scaring me half to death... I'd built up a lot of excitement over this trip and this tiny little thing has sparked my anxiety to a degree that I'm kind of regretting booking without thinking.

I've booked to go during 22nd - 26th February 2015... which I've now just realised is actually a French school holiday by the looks of a few websites. I'd managed to talk myself into believing that it would be a fairly quiet time (though I 100% knew Disney would never be dead quiet... just less crowded and less teenagers) and I've only now noticed that it's the same time as the school holidays. I have really awful social anxiety and what was originally something I was really looking forward to is now scaring me to pieces... the idea is terrifying to me. Can anyone perhaps advise on what its likely going to be like during that week? I thought I'd been safe and booked during a really quiet time... knowing might help out a little in preparing I guess.

Sorry, and thank you kindly <3

waves hello, Im actually booked that same week, staying at Hotel New York. Honestly I'm not that worried about crowds. It will be cold, there will be alot of closures. I'm not that worried about it being French school holidays. The last time I was there was Christmas Eve , Christmas Day 2013. THAT was peak capacity time, so for me it cant be as bad as that.

Just take a deep breathe, dont over analyse things, and plan a great holiday

At least most of the British schools will be back, so only European holidays to worry about,. It might be ok! Get up early for EMH's have afternoon breaks and enjoy your resort hotel!!

Exactly, the weeks before when its both UK and Irish half term will be far more crowded. Local holidays wont make as much difference crowd wise as during UK and Irish school holidays.

Hello :) I don't know if this helps or if it's even possible to change your dates but we have been a few times in mid/late January and it has been really really quiet. You have to wrap up warm but it's more excuse for plenty of hot chocolate :) plus it gets dark early and you get to see the resort lit up for longer :)

Hi all (: Thanks so much for the response - doesn't sound as bad as I was perhaps expecting it to be. I prefer the quieter days over the busy ones so hopefully it won't be too bad. Thanks again!
