During a recent trip to Anaheim, a notoriously unreliable source intimated that both the Finding Nemo and Autopia rides at DLR are destined for the chopping block... time frame uncertain but "in the near future."

Anyone else heard of similar plans, and has anyone heard what might replace them? That'd be a good-sized area for a "Fantasyland Expansion"-like refurb...

Bob Iger himself has said the subs aren't going anywhere it was rumor for a while that they would be leaving for a Star Wars expansion of Tomorrowland. Now the new rumor is that toontown will be leaving for Star Wars but the subs are safe. I haven't heard anything about autopia.

There was a rumor a while back that both Finding Nemo and Autopia were going to be leaving for Star Wars attractions, with Luigi's Flying Tires being replaced by a new Radiator Springs Autopia.

However, the new "Luigi's Festival of the Dance" attraction supposedly replacing the Flying Tires, as well as the Toontown rumors have ended the rumors of the Submarine Voyage and Autopia leaving.

The subs just re-opened after an extensive refurb. During that time the "experts" were saying it wouldn't open back up. They were wrong (surprise). Now those rumor-mongers seem to think Toontown is going to go away like it did at WDW.

WRONG!! Here's why:

1. Mickey's Toontown is quite popular (unlike its former MK counterpart).

2. Replacing TT is not feasible because it closes early for the fireworks. A new expansion in that area would also have to close early. This wouldn't work.

3. Fantasyland doesn't need an expansion. It already has the most attractions in the park.

4. Tomorrowland desperately needs an overhaul and an expansion. Removing Autopia would help in expanding that area if the park. Personally, I think this will eventually happen. But nothing will start before 2016.

I think a Tomorrowland overhaul should include removal of everything except Star Tours and Space Mountain. The subs should go as well, or maybe they could be incorporated into Fantasyland. Astro Orbiters needs to go back up high, but maybe in a different area than where they used to be.
