Ugh running nutrition. I kept saying last year I was going to contact a sports nutritionist and never did. Whoo procrastination! I really need to though. I have zero idea how to fuel myself. I burned over 1000 calories running today, and have no idea what percentage to actually put back in and what kind of nutrients, other than protein. I don't eat a huge amount of carbs in my daily life, I'm sure I should have thrown in some whole grains to my ground turkey and avocado lunch/dinner. I might need to stop procrastinating this nutritionist visit now.
So a WooHoo! I'm alive so that's good. I got my run in. 8 miles. Not always fun or good, and most of it was in a very cold rain. Also I am so thankful for chocolate outrage GU, and the gift it gives me while on long runs. I haven't looked closely at my stats yet but over all my pace was amazing for this run.
I'm tired and my calves are kind of locked up, but I'm snuggled up watching TV and surfing the net. It's a pretty okay day off from work.

That is dedication. I hated even walking from my car up to my kids school for pick-up. Cold, windy rain is worse than snow to me. And I am so with you on the nutrition front. I burned 900 calories with my long run yesterday and came home, had a chef style salad and was thinking, now what? I was hungry but couldn't decide what to have. Finally remembered I had bought chocolate milk and I had that. But I was hungry the rest of the day. I need to figure this out better. I think my gym has a sports nutritionist, it costs extra, but it would likely be worth it.
i need to figure out ways to make hearty breakfasts enjoyable for me, im sure that would solve a lot of my energy problems throughout the day.

)! Double welcome then! I was born-bred in MA for my first 27 years, but have lived in NH now for 24 years (yikes.... that pretty much gives away my age, doesn't it!?). I am from Sturbridge... how about you? ..................P
What are you celebrating today?
