Find Your Lost Money - I did just in time for Disney!!

Hey!

Just wanted to tell you guys that I went to Missingmoney dot com and entered my info. I searched if I had any non claimed money from various states I had lived in during the past 20 years.

Sure enough, found money I never got back on an electric deposit back in the 90's. With interest, since it accrues while the state holds onto it, it was over $250!!!

Then I was nice and found a few other family members who also had money from a college dorm deposit and another utility deposit!!

Let me know who has any luck!!!!

OOOH there is something under my name. The city that I live in is spelled wrong, but the zip is correct. How long does it take to process?

Ok, I keep getting flashing "YOU WON" signs and then when I enter my info it tells me to call a number, but not what I have available.

Am I missing something?

You can do the same thing by checking your state's unclaimed property (or any state that you have lived in)! Just google it.

Proof of residence at the address they listed from when they owed you money? I found some from when I lived in MO in an apartment, um....9 years ago?! I have NO idea what I'd use for proof of residence at that address. It has been so long!

Okay, so I found some under my maiden name, with my middle initial, reported by the company DH & I had our first mortgage with. But I was married by the time we bought our first home, so ???? I am a cautious type and not eager to enter my ssn online, so I went to the state's unclaimed property site, and they have no listing. Is anyone else concerned that it's a scam?

I found 5 items: $10.34, $1.12, $0.27 $15.59 and $50.00, LOL. Wondering if it worth filing the claims that won't even pay 1 months of son's piano lessons.

The initial form you have to fill out only takes a minute. Then they will forward that to the state, which will send you a list of things you have to do in order to claim the money. Look at that list and decide if it's worth it. You can always tell your son that if he does all of the work he can keep whatever money he gets.

I found some a couple years back and didn't do anything about it. Guess I need to relook. It is in a CA account somewhere. It is around $50.
