We currently have 2 DVC loans, one for our BWV points and one for our VWL add on points. My goal is to pay off the VWL points this year and the BWV points next year. We got a good tax return this year, so it's all going on the loans.
On this past Tues. I called Member Services and made a $2000 extra principal payment on my VWL loan. I gave her my member number AND my loan number. She told me my balance, took my VISA card info for the payment and told me my new balance.
Well, yesterday I got my other tax return check, so I called DVC again today to make another principal payment. In talking to her I discover they had put the $2000 payment on the wrong loan! Had I not called today to make another payment, who knows when I would have discovered this error! It's still odd to me that they made this mistake, considering she told me my new balance at the time of the transaction. And my two loans are no where near the same amount, so they're not easily confused.
I never felt the need to "check up" on MS before, but now I wonder. Anyone else had this happen?
