Well we went into the ER on Monday morning and we finally got home tonight. He was severely dehydrated which I thought was odd because we were giving him the drink every 15 minutes. He was SO listless when we got there, he was dry as a bone. In the ER, they tried ELEVEN times to get an iv in him including his feet. Finally the doctor had to give him one in the neck, ouch! He was one ticked off puppy. They started with the fluids and said we'd see at 10pm how he was to see if he would be admitted... that he should be bouncing off the walls by then and ready to go. Got to 10pm and he was still completely out of it and limp.. doctor told us he was being admitted. So around 12:30am we got the move up to pedatrics... our own room which was good. Dh had left around 11pm so it was just Ian and I. After answering around a million questions they finally let me lay down for awhile. I think I got a total of an hour and a half sleep Mon night. We were told it would be just overnight but all day yesterday he was still completely listless and refused to drink so they made us stay again last night. Today he was better and finally got him up and about and we played in the playroom and he started drinking. The agreement was 5oz every 4 hours for 3 cycles to get to go home. So at 6pm we finally got to come home!!! He still has massive diarreah, nasty! And he is still in a foul mood and pretty tired and too himself. But as long as he is drinking they said he's good.
My younger dd Julia had thrown up on Sunday night and had diarreah so she didn't go to school on Monday. So Monday night I was told Hannah had diarreah so she didn't go to school on Tuesday. Today both of them ended up at the school office at the same time and my grandfather had to pick them up. Hannah seems fine... Julia is REALLY sick. She's been throwing up all night and has massive diarreah. She is drinking ok for now though. Great fun to come home to huh?
Anyway, if you've read this far... please bestow upon us some healthy vibes? I'm exhausted!
