When DH and I did IVF to get PG with our DD, the procedure and some of the meds weren't covered under our insurance... Because it was going to be our last try (after 11 years off & on of trying), we paid OOP $25k for a "shared risk" program, which meant that we could have up to 6 tries for that amount (about the amt. for 2 tries) and if it didn't work at any time, we could have asked for our money back. Well, we got pregnant on the first try! (YAY! and boo, for paying more than we needed to!)
So, now we're going to try for #2, using the one remaining frozen embryo, and had set aside ~ $7k for this try. Well, we just found out that our new insurance covers FET (and IVF), so we'll only have to pay about 20% (~$1400)
YAY again! I'm hoping it works, but not holding my breath.
