Brilliant I am thinking of doing more of a "food porn" report when I get back from three weeks at WDW in August. Our first visit so am really going to try, even bought a camera.

Good plan, it's a good way to start writing TR's. At least you'll get plenty of use out of your new camera, I got a new one for this trip and I'm so glad I did.

Our first port was Malta, it was so cool to be welcomed like this

This port was a lot prettier than Barcelona

We did the Valetta Hisorical Hunt excursion, this is after our coach dropped us off and we were led to the start of the Hunt

This traditionally dressed Maltese man told us what the Hunt involved

We were given a guide book that included the questions

And a map of Valletta

Most of the streets were like this, it reminded me of some parts of London

A usual sight of the UK high street

There seemed to be a church on every corner

Knock off Disney plush toys

You can't have Goofy next to Yogi Bear

The cathedral

With and upsdie down hidden Mickey

They had an old HMV sign (His Masters Voice)

A statue of Queen Victoria

I loved how all the balconys were different

Gav was checking out the local goodies

Lots of beautiful flowers

This brick work reminded me of chocolate

I'm not sure what this was but it was in the ground and covered with a see through piece of plastic

They have a Marks and Sparks too

It was getting quite hot and I wanted to run through these fountains

This church was on a really narrow street and yet it was so ornate

There were lots of horses and carts, they had them near the port too

This is looking across the channel of the port, the city is fortified all the way around

My camera has an auto panoramic mode - I found it hard to get enough in the picture, a lot of them ended up with black bits on the right!

And another I was practicing

This bell was presented to Malta to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the award of the George Cross to the Maltese people

We could see the Magic

This was where a cannon used to be during WW2

We really weren't too far from the port, it's such an easy place to explore by foot

This was a garden across the street, we didn't explore it

A silly shadow picture

We walked back to the ship - Valletta is high up on a hill, it was ok walking back but I don't think I would have enjoyed climbing it

When I was younger we used to have a Citroen similar to this one

Sorry about the glare, this was a shop at the port - I was getting hungry so we didn't look around

Back home

It didn't take too long to get back onboard

We had lunch at Lumiere's - butternut squash soup

Quesedilla

Seafood

Cheesecake

Apple pie

Ice cream

Valletta is so pretty!

I would love to go back to Malta - I'd never really considered it as a holiday destination but we both loved it and it felt so safe. It was fun to see the British influences I just wish we'd had more days there to explore, maybe Disney should do an 11 week cruise with a week at each port

The bathrooms on the ship? They were awesome I actually don't remeber using many bathrooms out and about - ones that spring to mind, Sorrento we went to a farm and they were fine, Pompei was a bit wierd. A lot of them in Italy you use your foot to start the water! I helped a few confused people who were looking for the tap There were no nightmare bathrooms though If I remember more I'll let you know.

Sorry for not posting much recently I used to be able to get onto Flickr at work but it's now blocked so I'm doing my posting at home.

I spent the afternoon taking a few pics around the ship of the port

Here are some friends

You can just see to the left of Charlottes head (in the blue pants) the entrance to the port, it seemed very narrow!

And again in the top left corner, if I'd been steering my car through there I'd have had trouble

These guys are everywhere

As the Magic had never been to Malta we left to a salute of cannons - it was awesome. This is roughly where they were fired from. I got a good video of it - I'll see if I can post it.
