Dilemma - my husband also got one

Mine is $159 for SSR or OKW and his is $59 for a value resort! Do I save the $$$ or go for it!!!!!!!!!! We are taking our soon to be 3 year old granddaughter with us!!!!!!!!! I have only stayed in All Star Movies and the Contemporary resorts.

Either is a great rate.
I determine what I am willing to pay on how much I plan to be in the room and resort.
If it is going to be mostly parks, then it is a value or mod.
For more of a resort stay, then a deluxe.

Enjoy! :woohoo:

We are only going for 3 days and since we are taking our almost 3 yr old gd and also my 81 yr old mother, we were only going to Magic Kingdom so which one would be best between OKW and SSR. I just changed jobs and cannot take a longer vacation until next year, but I really want to go now.

I think you should call and see if any other resorts are available with the postcard pin. I think you should be able to get discounts at other resorts with the postcard, but I'm not sure.

You know, I've never stayed at either, but based on the makeup of who's going in your family, I'd say go with the SSR or OKW, especially if you can get a little more room to stretch out when you're in the room. Might make things easier on your mother.

I also got a postcard for 59 for a value resort last week... i called the day i got it and there were no rooms left for the dates we wanted to go... so i would call and see what is avaliable. We have been calling everyday hoping that we can get one! Good Luck!!

Congrats on the postcard! I've been wishing and wishing for one!! I've never stayed at either SSR or OKW, but I know that SSR is a larger resort and newer, but from what I understand OKW has larger rooms. Someone else can probably give first hand information though! Either way, have a great time! :cool1:

Studios at Old Key West have 2 queen beds. Saratoga Springs has 1 queen bed and a sleeper sofa. The rooms at OKW are larger.

When we received a postcard for a value resort the same pin offered us tremendous discounts on deluxe resorts. If you are going to spend most of your time at MK you may want to look at these other options.

How do you find out if they offer a discount on another resort besides value?

I haven't gotten one..yet! What are the date ranges? I hope I get one. I'd love to make a quick trip before school starts.

I called yesterday and reserved OKW. I should have asked for discounts on the deluxe resorts like WL, but I think we will be happy there. :woohoo: I can't wait until next year when we are going for at least a week. I hope they have a discount on WL or AKL for that time.:yay:

I meant for next year............I hope they have some great discounts when it is time for my week there.:cool1:

I also got that pin code for $159 at SSR or OKW. Right now I am booked with a split stay at the WL and Poly (concierge). What are the odds of getting that rate applied to my current reservation? As I am travelling with another family switching resorts would not work.
I am still in shock about getting a pin code!

I wish I were so lucky! I know I am not on Disney's mailing list since I have never visited before so I guess the good rates only go to returning visitors :confused3
It looks like our trip will have to be canceled. Our trip budget got cut into by some emergency car repairs (almost $300). If I could find a cheap rate at a value that still have rooms available *haha* we might be able to squeeze by. Its just my boyfriend and I and we really don't care about the room since we don't plan on spending much time there!

Well, my AAA agent tried to get the $159 code applied to my WL and Poly reservation 8/17-28 but no luck.:sad2:
I hope in the future I will get a code I can use.pixiedust:

I wish that I could get a POSTCARD!!! I have 2 friends that are going with me for the weekend in September and THEY got cards!!! THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused3
