Finally getting to see the lights! Nov '11 Anniversary/Holiday/F&W PTR-New 11/4 p50

Oh, you are getting so close Amy! I know you have to be getting excited as I am and I still have 23 days to go!

Love the souvie coupons! What a neat idea.

Congrats on Chef Mickey's! Isn't it exciting to made ADR's.

I'm getting very excited!! I'm starting to get a little anxious about the packing... I keep DISing when I should be packing!

I love ADRs!!

I'd have to say my favorites were the shrimp on the barbie from Australia and the lamington cake from there. The mahi mahi from Brazil was awesome. The pot stickers from China, the cheese soup from Canada, the pretzel roll from germany the sausage w/ it was good too. The pumpkin mousse and Cherry Wheat Ale from Hops and Barely. Matt also loved the canoli from Italy and the lava cake from Ireland. He also enjoyed the Leffe beer from Belgium going in the morning when the food is fresh hot is perfect we hardly had any lines in the evening they seemd to have a back-up w/ the popular items.

I have to say I did get a grey Goose...but it was sub par to the ones in Jan

I have to say that we did NOT do early bird for either flight and even though I was in w/ in the first 10 for group B each time...it was pure luck and then last row of plane to be together...so may pre boards and family boarding...we polan to purchase the early bird i think for jan...I think even if you check in right at the 24 hr mark the A group is gone to the early birds... :headache:

love the countdown Amy...can't believe it is basically 2 weeks away :cool1: I will have to share on FB-Spectrum Mom's a few sneak peeks I caught for the Holidays... the coupon is :thumbsup2 too

Ooo.. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll be sure to copy them down to share with Tim. :thumbsup2

Sorry the slushie didn't live up to January!

Good point about the families who board between A & B!

Less than 2 weeks!!! I feel like it's just a week away since I'll be going crazy next week at this time!

We did pay for early bird check in. I was nervous where we had not flown Southwest before so I figured where it was just 2 tickets I would go for it.

:banana::banana: For 11 Days!!! :dance3::dance3:

I will catch up when we get back. We fly in around 9:30 pm on Saturday night so on Sunday I will be on here catching up.

Have a GREAT time!!!

Woo hoo!!! I just saved over $50 on our rental car!! The last minute rate drops never seem to work out for me but this time it did! I read on Tour Guide Mike to check my Alamo rate & it went down from $162-$107 for our 3 day minivan rental.

I checked our April rate & it didn't go down but I'm psyched to have saved $50!!! :cool1:

Those last two weeks before a trip always seem to go by so quickly with all the last minute stuff.

Yay for the $$ savings on the rental! :thumbsup2

I think I should be hitting the sack now. Early day tomorrow.

Two weeks from today will be our 15th anniversary! :lovestruc But we’ll be celebrating Christmas! :santa: We have a lot of plans for today, but hopefully it won’t be too crazy. We’ll be up & making ourselves pretty because we have our photo session at 9am at the Beach Club. We then have a 9:40 breakfast ADR at Cape May. After breakfast, we’ll go back & change our clothes & catch a bus to DTD. We’ll do a little shopping & maybe eat lunch, depending how long we are there. We’ll take a cab back to BWV to avoid the awful DTD bus situations I’ve read about. Hopefully we’ll have time for a little break before heading to MK for MVMCP!! We’ll be eating dinner with Kathy (KathyRN137) and her son Billy! I’m very excited to see Kathy & to finally meet Billy!

In April news, I made three ADRs this morning. Hoop Dee Doo Revue (5pm - category 1), Rose & Crown for lunch & a back-up ADR at Le Cellier for lunch. I want Le Cellier for lunch on Saturday but since I could get one for today (Monday 4/23), I took it. I'll cancel it if I'm able to get Saturday's ADR. And as they had indicated they would be doing starting today, they did take a credit card to hold the reservation. When I saw Le Cellier on the list, I wasn't sure if they would take a credit card for lunches or if it would just be dinners. Yes, it's lunches too.

Today will be a big packing day! Unfortunately our washing machine broke last night! I can't get Sears out here until Saturday. I'm hoping they have whatever part they need to fix it then & don't have to come back. I need my washer next week!! Luckily my neighbor, Laura, said I could use her washer & dryer today so I can finish washing the load that was in the washer when it died!

Check in tomorrow for our plans for Disney Day #3!

Take lots and lots and lots of pictures of the Boardwalk and your room -- that's really where I want to stay if we rent points.

Yay for Teppan Edo for dinner!!! :goodvibes

I can't believe your washer broke!!! Ugh! Hope Sears can fix it easily on Saturday.

I had bad experiences with DTD buses in the past but I have to say the bus to/from Swan/Dolphin/Boardwalk & DTD isn't that bad! It's not as far as you'd think.

Hi Amy!

:woohoo: for only 10 days!!! Wow! You are so close!:yay:

Loved reading your list of 15 new things you want to do!:thumbsup2 Great idea on the coupons! Congrats on your ADR's for your April trip!:goodvibes

Aww...sorry to hear about your washing machine. Hopefully they have the part and can fix it for you right away.:thumbsup2

Woo Hoo for 10 days! :cool1:

Will be interested to hear about he photo shoot, might want to do something like that someday. The cab plan for DTD sounds good, we've had many a bus issue w/DTD and it is actually a major reason we won't go without a car.

Yikes on the washing machine, hope they can get it fixed for you!

I love the souvenir coupons. That is really a great idea! :thumbsup2

A big :headache: that your washer is broken. Our dryer died this summer and I couldn't get them out here quick enough with a new one....with 5 people in the family the laundry adds up fast! And we weren't headed out on vacation! I hope it's a quick and easy (and inexpensive!) fix. :goodvibes

wow 10 days away...coming fast :goodvibes the cab idea sounds like a good plan and stinky (Haha that is a horrible pun) about the broken washer...that has happend to me before too, nothing like pulling slopping wet towels out and trying to dry them w/out going through a spin cycle :headache: hope it get's fixed face...

and if you can bag up that pixiedust magic and send our way please do :sad2:

I will Jackie! I can't wait to share them with you.

Ugghh on the washer! I'm lucky that my friend Laura lives next door & she is letting me use her washer!

I think the ride there will be OK but I'm not willing to risk the ride back. I took the same ride last fall & the return trip was awful! Tim does not like the buses so we'll just save the possible aggrevation & take a cab. But if it weren't for him, I'd probably just take the bus.

I'm super excited for our 15 new things. It's amazing that I've been to Disney so many times & there are 15 new things for this trip, plus I have a nice list of new things for April too! There's always something new to do!

Woo Hoo for 10 days! :cool1:

I'll be sure to report back on the photo session! I've set the bar low... I'm just hoping for one or two nice shots. We need a new family portrait to hang in the living room - Zach is a baby in the last good one we had done. And I want a nice anniversary picture with Tim.

I agree - I've heard too many bad DTD bus stories... I don't want to deal with that!

That sounds like a great day to celebrate your anniversary! I can hardly wait for MVMCP. Oh, the fun you are going to have.

I'm so excited!! :cool1:

We have had a lot of bad luck with washers! We've lived in our house for almost 12 years & this is our 3rd washer. The first one died so we got the 2nd one. Sears couldn't fix it & replaced it for us & now it's broken! :headache: I almost hope we need a new one so I can go back to a top loader. I am not a big fan of the 2 front loaders we've had!

Yes it is stinky! :rotfl:

I'll definitely be sending pixie dust your way! I'll stuff as much of it into my suitcase as possible!

What an excellent, awesome, very good day!
Pretty pictures, an incredible breakfast, shopping, a Disney Christmas party, and DIS friends - it couldn't get much better than that! :dance3:

Time for a single digits dance!!
:banana::dance3: party::dancer::rockband::dancer:party: :dance3::banana:

And you know what that means... I can start looking at the 10 day forecast!! :rolleyes1

The current weather.com forecast for Saturday 11/5: Mostly sunny 75/60 :thumbsup2 (which probably means by the time we get through the next 9 days, it will be rainy & 99 degrees!)

Two weeks from today (Thursday, 11/10) we will sleep a little late (or as late as the boys will let us), possibly have breakfast at Kouzzina (newly added ADR) then head to AK for a few hours. This will be our only time at AK so we need to make the most of our time. After hitting our favorite attractions at AK, we’ll return “home” for a little break, then we’ll head out to DHS. We’ll have dinner at 50s Prime Time Café & get to check out the Osborne Lights!!! I am MOST excited about this!! :cool1:

In April trip planning news, no new ADRs this morning... This will be our IoA day! Funny story about that... Last night I checked our itinerary to see if I had to get up to make any ADRs & saw that it was IoA day. I panicked a bit thinking we were going to IoA "in two weeks"! I haven't planned anything for IoA yet! Planning two trips at once is a bit tricky! :lmao:

Since any weather forecast more than 5 days out is almost complete BS...if you ever want to look at weather, check out the trip planner @ weatherunderground.

http://www.wunderground.com/travelplanner/index.asp

Type in location and days of the year you'll be travelling and it will tell you want to expect for the average, as well as the highs and the lows.

The good news - they've never broken 90 in Florida during our dates. The highs range from about 63 to 87, with the more typical being between 75 and 83. About 19 % of the days at this time of year have rain on average, but even that doesn't mean all day rain. In fact 19 % of days had rain, but only 9 % of days were "cloudy".

Lots of people seem to fret about the weather on vacation...but here's a secret...it's the one piece of our Disney vacation completely beyond our control. Especailly at Disney, a rainy day can NOT "dampen" the trip. (Pun intended.)

Oh, and YEAH for double Digit dance...only 4 days away myself.

:yay:Yay for single digits!!!! How exciting.

:banana:Yay for the Osborne Lights. They are wonderful. I just read the other day that Jennings Osborne passed away this year. He did so many great things for so many.

Thanks Pete! I love that website! :thumbsup2 I don't fret too much about the weather, I'm just a bit obsessed with checking it. It's sort of a running joke around here that I'm the crazy weather lady!

And I agree - the forecast is pretty much BS 10 days out! ::yes::

Yes, I had heard that earlier this year. Very sad. :sad2:
