Finally getting to see the lights! Nov '11 Anniversary/Holiday/F&W PTR-New 11/4 p50

Yay on the flights Amy! That's a big thing to cross off the to-do list. :)

It's always a big relief to have the flights booked! We have our resort booked & park tickets already too so all we need to pay for is the rental car, food & souvenirs!! :thumbsup2

Amy, you always amaze me at how organized you are! I wish I had an ounce of that skill.

Your trip is getting so close. I can't believe you have kept it a secret from the boys so long. I could never do that.

:banana:Yay for another trip!!! We are going in April as well, only a few weeks earlier. I have never been to F&G so I am super excited!

Congrats on your yard sale!

All of my organization goes out the window in the last few days when I go into full panic mode! I can't believe we are getting so close too!!! I just started getting excited over the last couple of days. Keeping the surprise a secret has been tough!!! Now it's just funny to play along with the fake story!

Congrats on the flights!! Hmm, wonder who your travelling companions may be?? Could it be Heidi?

We are planning for 6/3-10 so I'll be on the SWA hunt for the next release. Looked at the new fares just released for the time just before our dates and prices are pretty good. Was surprised Tampa was higher for us than MCO but either way works for us. Hoping the rest of June follows suit. Marked 11/14 on my calendar for booking.

That's too bad Anna won't be able to join you guys, hopefully a trip will be in her future soon!

I was REALLY surprised to get our return flight for less than our flight down! $130 is really low for that flight (and yes, lower than Tampa). I wasn't thrilled with the times though - I hate how they change the schedule so often. Tim & I talked about it yesterday & I had our preferences all figured out... then I saw the schedule this morning & didn't know what to do. But I'm happy with what we got.

Our return flight is already unavailable as a "Wanna Get Away" fare & the $140 flight down, is now up to $179!

Don't feel too bad for Anna - she was just there with her family, staying at BLT, in August!

Back to our November trip... Look what we got today!!! :cool1::cool1:

(stupid photobucket... I swear it's not sideways there...)

OK... now it's not sideways, but it was!

You are full of good news! Great flight prices, a new ticker (still exciting - even if you knew about the trip already!) and Mickey Mail! :yay:

I think you should do the big surprise at home so you can video/take pictures of it all. Maybe JUST before you go, hand them a Mickey shirt or something to clue them in!

I think this is our last year of pulling kids out of school with Alex going to middle school next year. :sad2: The trombone story sounds like something Alex would do... luckily we live less than a half mile from the school because we've had to drive back for forgotten homework more than a few times!

Yeah, unfortunately at middle school between the "no parental help" with many of the teachers and the fact that band rooms get locked up, as do teacher lounges where they store their stuff during cross country, if you don't have it with you when you get out, it may not be possible to get! Two trombone incidents so far and a very close call after a cross country meet when I got stuck in traffic and have Evan ride with me instead of taking the bus (several kids got locked out!). He had a quiz the next day and wouldn't have been able to study :scared1:

Today I got some "evidence" tape from work and we labeled his case. No mixing it up now. :rotfl:

:cool1::cool1::cool1: for new tickers, flights and a VERY organized sounding 5 weeks to me!

Fun stuff and some Disney money to boot. Love it!

Congrats on the spring trip! :cool1: And congrats on getting your flights booked. Can I have you book my June flights? You seem to have the travel mojo!!!! :rotfl:

nice new additional ticker Amy :cool1: glad the booking of flights went well...

for Nov. YAY for Mickey mail, and your to-do list is HUGE but I love how you have it all broken down, girl after my own heart ;)

I vote for the reveal/surprise to be done at home :thumbsup2...I'd be nervous waiting to the last second...

great news about the yard sale...good for you!

Yeah for you! And that means ours should be in the mail soon too!

:cool1:

It's been a great Disney week! Lots of things going on for both trips. :thumbsup2

I agree - home would be better.

Hurray for a new ticker and ME documents!!! Yesterday was a good Disney day at your house! :thumbsup2

I've had two great Disney days... It was pouring buckets yesterday so I decided not to leave the house. I just sat around trying to work out our April itinerary. :thumbsup2

Thanks Julie!! I agree with doing the surprise at home. I think I'm going to do the scavenger hunt with a suitcase at the end (or box if all the suitcases are full). I'll put some balloons in the suitcase/box along with a goody bag for each of the boys.

One month!!!
:cheer2: :rockband::dancer:party::dancer::rockband: :cheer2:

(Yes, I know... my ticker says 1 month & 3 days until Disney... but it's only one month until we leave!!!)

Wow...all kinds of good news! Yay for Disney money from your yard sale! Nothing feels better than getting rid of stuff. And getting some extra cash for your vacation is an added bonus! :thumbsup2

Congrats on the flights! Booking airfare is one of my favorite parts of planning. It makes the trip so real.

Hi Missy!! Everything seems to be coming to a head for both trips at the same time! Airfare booking & ADRs approaching for April and Mickey mail & less than a month to go for November!! It's so exciting!!

Will I be able to fly?

I was due to renew my driver's license on my birthday (2 weeks ago) and received the notice a couple months ahead of time. I didn't bother to go to the DMV over the summer because I figured I'd have time in September after the kids got back to school. I strolled in about 3 weeks ago, took the eye test & said cheese. Then the lady handed me a piece of paper and said my license will come in the mail within approximately 45 days. :scared1: But I'm leaving for vacation in approximately 45 days! :scared1: I had completely forgotten that they give out temporary licenses so they can run background checks or whatever since 9/11...

I googled some information and found out that I'd probably be fine flying out of NH but that I could run into some trouble flying home. But I also found out that most of the licenses arrive within just 2-4 weeks. I calmed down a bit but was still a little uneasy.

Luckily my new license arrived today!!! :cheer2:

One more thing to check off my to-do list... even though it wasn't on there yet. ;)

Those paper licenses are the stupidest thing. DH had one once. We need to get our passports...it's been on our to do list for 2 years. DH's grandmother lives in Canada and is 92 years old if you get my drift. Plus then I could visit Tracy.

Phew! So glad you got your license in time! That could have been messy. Illinois does not do that, you walk out with it that same day but it is usually a zoo there and takes a while. Luckily they also renew through the mail if you have a clean driving record so I haven't had to deal with that for a while.

Yes - I'd say you should get those passports! I have had the paperwork sitting on my dresser for over a year... just haven't gotten it done.

Tim was able to renew his online this year but apparently I had told the DMV not to store my picture in their records so I couldn't do it online. :rolleyes1 But I'll be able to do it next time. I guess you can renew online every other time but have to go into the DMV every 10 years for a new picture. Fortunately the DMV nearest me is never busy... but I remember going to the DMV when we lived in CT... scary!! You could spend hours there!

One month from today, we'll be checking in at the Boardwalk Villas!! :dance3:

I read that our waitlist request will expire today (31 days from check-in) so it looks like we won't get to visit SAB. I did ask our DVC owner to keep us waitlisted, just in case, and he said he would call tomorrow morning to keep us waitlisted. I'd just hate to miss out if somebody were to cancel Monday morning & we weren't on the wailist! I know it's unlikely but I figured we could take one last shot in the dark & if it's meant to be it will happen. :goodvibes Again, I'm thrilled to be staying at BWV & know the kids will love the pool there (assuming Zach can get past the clown... :rolleyes1)

So that brings me to online check-in... to do it or not to do it? I don't think it will be very busy when we check in around 11am on a Tuesday so I'm not sure how much time it will save us. And I heard that it's easier to ask for a different room if you aren't already checked in. :confused3 Not that I expect there to be tons of rooms to choose from... I doubt too many people are checking in on a Tuesday, and of those open villas, how many of them are going to be 1BRs? So what do you all think?

Hi Amy!

Only one month left for you!!! How exciting! :woohoo:

My one and only experience with online check-in left me thinking I would never do it again.

There was only one cast member helping Online people, but there were a bunch of CMs helping the other people, so online check-in went much slower. :headache:

I'm not sure if that was a unique experience or not, but I know I won't do it again!
