Finally getting to see the lights! Nov '11 Anniversary/Holiday/F&W PTR-New 11/4 p50

You are so nice to offer to make me cards! :worship: I actually have the adorable notebook that Cynthia made me in May that I am going to write (or type) my plans into. I do like the way that card is set-up with the Plan A and Plan B side. That's awesome. I am going to copy that!

I think your plans for party day sound great. Perfect day! I love the ten day non expiring ticket. I had one once that still has water park passes on it, if you can believe it. I probably won't use them in December, but next summer for sure!

I believe it! We aren't even using any waterpark tickets on this trip! We'll probably only use one in April! That will leave us with nine... I'm sure we'll have them for years to come.

Amy, You are sooo creative. I love your cards. I wish I had an ounce of that talent!

Love your plans for MVMCP. I am so looking forward to that in November. The last time we were at one it rained.

Thanks - but it was all Heidi (MRYPPNS). She emailed me her cards & I just updated them with my info. :thumbsup2

I can't wait for MVMCP!!! I hope the weather is good.

Today we'll sleep a little bit after our night out at MVMCP. Sleeping in for us (the boys) is probably 8:30. :headache: So we'll get up when we get up, take our time getting ready, grab breakfast somewhere at the Boardwalk then make our way to Animal Kingdom! (I may run into Epcot before we leave to grab a KP fastpass for Zach to use later in the day.) This will be our only visit to AK on this trip & we'll be spending a few hours to visit our favorite rides.

After Animal Kingdom we'll return to BWV for a little while. I may take Zach over to Epcot for a KP mission. (Although the more I talk about it, the more it make me tired to think about it!) I'll keep it in our plans, just in case, but it seems unlikely.

Then we'll be off to DHS again! Tonight we have a dinner ADR at 50s Prime Time Cafe (where we should bump into Heidi) then we'll get to see the Osborne Lights!!! Not sure if we'll want to take the time to see Fantasmic on this short trip even if they add it every night (definitely won't if it's not every night), but I put it on my card just in case.

I'm so excited to finally get to see the lights!!

I'm so excited to finally get to see the lights!!

I'm excited for Christmas in Disney World again, since we skipped last year. I'm more than ready to see all the trees and decorations and the special parades.

No park before party night sounds perfect. We would plan the same way. Maybe the boys could spend some time in the Lego Store while you shop somewhere else?

I hope you like Cape May. That has been one of our all-time favorite breakfasts.

I hope the lights do you proud! They are pretty cool. You can appreciate them more when it's not bumper to bumper crowded, so I hope that works out for you. We've had times when we've strolled through and really taken in all of the little displays, and we've had times when we have shuffled through in mini-steps because of the crowd.

You will love the lights. They are gorgeous! It gets crowded back there. So many people!

OK my head is in a planning scramble. I will not be seeing you Thursday night at 50's Prime Time because we will be at EPCOT that night. I was getting my original plan confused with the new hopping plan.

I'm really excited to try Cape May. I've had it on my radar for a while and it seems to fit perfectly with our Boardwalk stay. :thumbsup2

I'm going to try to miss the most crowded times at Osborne Lights - after they turn them on, but before the F! crowds show up. We'll see if it works out. :confused3

I know... and we don't like crowds. :headache: But hopefully it will be worth it.

Oops! No wonder I was confused about which night you were going to be there!

The lights are amazing. Be sure to get there when they turn them on! It so special to see.

Hmmm... I was planning to avoid the beginning when they turn them on. We don't do well with crowds. Do you think the "opening ceremony" is a must do? :confused3

Hello,

I noticed you are going the same time as us. Yeah! Did you get the free dining? It's funny, I thought the pin code was the best deal but the free dining came out and it is saving us more:)

We are staying at CSR and visiting friends first near Tampa as well. Hope you have a great vacation and looking forward to planning together.

:welcome:

We are renting points from a DVC owner to stay at BWV so no free dining for us. We will buy a Tables in Wonderland card that we can use on this trip & our next trip in April (staying off-site at Sheraton Vistana Villages) for 20% off our TS dining.

Congrats on the free dining!! :thumbsup2

I stumbled across this article this morning in my searches for scavenger hunt idea.

How to Pull Off a Walt Disney World Surprise Trip

We'll be doing "The Switcheroo" (telling them we are going on a fake trip) along with either "The Hunt" or "The Shocker". Another option is to just let the switcheroo play out & have them catch on when they catch on! I'd be curious to see how long it takes them!! Jeff & Karen are moving to a new condo so it's possible that we could drive all the way to their place without them figuring it out! But I'm sure the flight to Tampa would give it away!

We might let the cat out of the bag with a short scavenger hunt ("The Hunt") the morning we leave. Our flight isn't until 10:10 so we don't need to leave the house until around 8:00. Our boys are early risers so there is definitely time. If anyone has any ideas/clues we could use for an around the house scavenger hunt, please share!! They don't know a ton of Disney movies - mostly just newer ones - Cars, Toy Story, etc. and basic characters - MM & the gang, Winnie the Pooh & friends. Phineas & Ferb too of course.

The last option is to just go with "The Shocker" and ask them to open up one of the suitcases to get something out for me & have balloons pop out and have their surprise goodies in the suitcase. Or something along those lines...

Now moving on to Day Four of our touring plans.

Today is our Magic Kingdom day!! It's our only time at MK aside from MVMCP so our list is ambitous. I'm sure we'll get on a few rides during MVMCP so hopefully our list won't be this long in the end.

After MK, we'll return to BWV for a little rest & to catch up with Karen & K before our night out. (I've added the possibility of a KP misson during our "break" but again, I'm not optimistic this will actually happen... KP may end up being skipped on this trip.) Our evening touring plans are mainly to enjoy dessert at Epcot so the card doesn't have much info on it!

Only 77 Days until Florida & 80 until Disney!!!

(And I'm single digit dancing for the first day of school!!:rolleyes1)

Love the schedule! How did you make it look so good? I dont have any ideas for how to pull of the surprise but I am anxious to read about it for ideas! I am in the single digit dance too for school! WOOHOO!!!! I am a WAHM and 2 extra kids that are a little too old for daycare, has been a little challanging (to put it nicely) this year. I am at 105 days til Disney.... :upsidedow

Hey...getting caught up!

I'd like to aim for the late parade time but it will depend on how the boys are all feeling. I bet we could ride quite a few rides while the rest of the park is lined up for the early parade.

hopefully the late parade will work out for you all...be less crowded and you can get some kore rides/party stuff done too!

Hmmm... I was planning to avoid the beginning when they turn them on. We don't do well with crowds. Do you think the "opening ceremony" is a must do? :confused3

we didn't catch the official ON, but the lights are turned off and back on a few times...so you should still get the affect...I'd try and go later when you have a better chance of less crowds so you can enjoy it more :goodvibes

we did the "hunt" and "shocker" tactics back in '09 and worked quite well...we just made up our scavenger clues ourselves...there are a few listed in that post.

If you have an attached garage you can do something like "Where Lighting McQueen takes a nap" and attach the next clue on the door leading into your garage....

it doesn't neccessary have to be tricky ;)

I love all your Days plans and the cards too of course :thumbsup2

For your rest morning and DTD plans...you could always entertain the idea of all 4 going together for a bit and then you get to stay longer and let Tim take boys back to pool for a longer period of time...but don't wear out at pool...won't last till midnight then as easily... JAT

For your switcheroo could you say something about going on one of Tim's business trips with him? Since it's your anniversary mommy and daddy would like to have dinner together so you all have to go....:confused3

My vote is to go with the "shocker" the morning of the trip! That way if something doesn't flow right with the treasure hunt you won't lose pressure time.

Whatever you do - you have to video the big surprise. I love that!!!!!!

Great plans again for Day 4!!!!!

I guess I have to start figuring out how many days I have left, but I don't think I'm double digit dancing yet - infact I am sure of it!

The touring cards are made in Powerpoint. Heidi (MRYPPNS) created them & emailed them to me. I just updated them with our information. :thumbsup2

Yay for back to school! I did child care for a while but with a pair of little ones. It helped pay the bills at the time but boy was I glad when it ended!!

I think the late parade is the best option because we'll be able to get in a lot of rides during the first parade. Hopefully everyone will be up for it.

I'll be happy to leave DTD with the rest of the family... I don't need a ton of shopping time. I just know to plan for only a little while there. It will be cheaper that way. ;)

Thanks for the input on the OL. I'd love to see the big ON but think it's probably best for our gang to skip that. Still on the fence... :confused3

Thanks for the scavenger hunt suggestions too - I watched a bunch of YouTube videos too!

For your switcheroo could you say something about going on one of Tim's business trips with him? Since it's your anniversary mommy and daddy would like to have dinner together so you all have to go....:confused3

That's exactly what we're thinking! Great minds...

We'll definitely have a "shocker" - just not sure if we'll do a scavenger hunt too. :confused3 It may be easier to just skip that part to save ourselves the time. If we do the scavenger hunt, it won't be very long, just a few clues to build up the excitement.

I will video the surprise! MeMom asked me that earlier & I forgot to answer! I'll just have to figure out how to post it! :rolleyes1

Either surprise idea sounds great...but the thought of balloons popping out just makes me smile! How fun! I can't wait to see how this plays out for your boys. :goodvibes

I love your touring plan cards Amy. They are really cute! I think a scavenger hunt for the boys would be a lot of fun!

Depending upon how late you stay, there is plenty of time for rides during MVMCP and the lines get shorter as the night wears on. :thumbsup2

I plan to sleep in the morning of the party so Billy and I can stay late and watch the second parade.

Would you like to plan pre-party dinner together? :chat:
