Well we did it 210 points at SSR. Financed through Disney (was very easy, had reply in 5 minutes). Put the downpayment on my Disney Chase Card (got points), wrote a check to Chase for the downpayment. So we paid that off. Got 2005 and 2006 points plus a $1600.00 credit, so we have 420 to play with (YEAH). Does anyone know when these points will have to be used? I was so hyped I forgot to ask Juan :worship: (our guide) when I needed to use these point by. I'm 37 and this is like Christmas when I was 7, I am more hyped about this then when we bought our first house. They told me paper work should be here Monday, what will be our next step after we get the papers. I was told we got a temp member number so we could start making reservations then, is this correct. I have cash reservations for the week before Christmas at Wilderness Lodge, I want to cancel these and get my money back and apply that to my new purchase. What would be my chances of getting a 1 bedroom at SSR or Wilderness for the week before Christmas.
We aren't going to tell my DD until we get to the resort that we bought it, she will flip out. Shes a Disney Nut, wants to run the place one day

I would like to thank all the people who replied to my messages and help with honest answer before we made the purchase. THANKS

Your chances of a one-bedroom at SSR are excellent, because you have the home resort advantage. As soon as your points are available you should move ahead with that.

The chances of being above to change your reservation to VWL at the seven month mark are more iffy.

What's your Use Year? That will determine when the points must be used (or banked) by.

Congratulations & Welcome Home!!!

HAPPY "MAGICAL" VACATIONING,

Congratulations and Welcome Home :)

If you think you are hyped now -- just wait until that first visit and you walk into your one bedroom villa!!

I know the feeling!! Congratulations and Welcome Home!!

Welcome home! you should check with your guide about banking. There has been one time exemptions when you buy for the banking deadlines in the past, so you may be able to use it. I would think that if you have a temporary member number , you may be able to book at SSR now. Call ms tomorrow and try to book your stay. At the 7 month window, you can try to change to VWL. goodluck

:thumbsup2 Congrads Welcome Home we joined last month and I banked my points till next year, just because I new we wouldnt be using since just came off the disney magic, and have to spend time with inlaws haha.Just remember to bank the points you are not going to use so you wont lose them!!!

congratulations and welcome home! be sure to let us know when you're ready to do your first add-on! :goodvibes

Receiving that box in the mail is the most exciting piece of mail I have ever received.

I had the exact same questions as you. Although I would recommend checking with your guide to confirm...this is what our guide (Micheal) told us.

I had 15 days from the day I signed next to the mickey's that I could bank our 2005 use year points.

After receiving our member number with our papers, we could call MS and make our ressie...MS can also bank your points and than apply them to the ressie at the same time. I'm assuming you also have a Sept uy and received 05 uy points.

They can also waitlist you for VWL, but I would waitlist the whole ressie not just day by day.

We just got back and won't be 'Home' until after the Sept 1 use year, so we had to bank our 05 points. With a sept uy is was like a bonus getting those extra 200 points....didn't want to waste them. :)
