Finally bought our airline tickets through Southwest...no more uncertainty!

After a couple months of uncertainty over whether or not to just buy plane tickets or save money by taking Amtrak, I finally went ahead and bought our plane tickets through Southwest. Although the fares are much higher for August than they were this time last year, I am not complaining and I am at peace with my decision. We were able to get non stop flights (2hr 15 min duration), round trip for a little over $1,500 for all six of us. I think that is still a good price considering airline fares are going to keep going up, especially with how gas prices are looking. Now everything is coming together for this trip. Many people on this particular board have been very helpful to me with information about the train and airlines.

SW is a great airline. I think at 250 rt for each, (thats with all those crazy taxes) you did good. They are on time, friendly, reputable and will be happy with your decision. Meanwhile, if you have sw DING, keep checking, changing to reduce your tix is simple.
Have a great trip ..the prices would have likely gone UP rather than down, closer you get! Gas is going UP, and lucky you, you're all down with transportation
