Basically i bought a blank 8x6 spiral book at Joanne's, then i printed 2 characters per page on a MATE photo paper ( yes its expensive but gives it more defined quality to the images) I also laminated the cover page so in case it rains it is protected.

i the cut out each picture and attached it to the book but before i edited them on the office paint program to add "Celebrating Darren's 6th Birthday"
so the character ALL know his name AND that its his b-day!

I made 3 of these books one for my DS, one for my BF but i used cardstock (white) for hers not photo paper and it actually came out pretty decent
and one for her parents as a thanks for comming with us
lastly i added a mini sharpie to the book itself in case we loose the JUMBO one that i will eventually add with velcro to the book

I hope you guys like these i have such a good time making them, DH says i should sell them for like $5 i said he was crazy no :rotfl2: one would pay for this when they can make them at home so easily!

I also plan to take a photo of DS with each character and later attach to each page with a flip up tab, so when you open the book you see the phot then flip it up and see the autograph underneath. Somehow in my head it works out. :rotfl:

anyway i am also going to bring a blank book and if we see any characters that are not on the book i have someplace for them to sign and eventually personalize the page once we get back home.

sorry can't figure out how to post the pic using shutterfly so links will open up on a new window with the photo :confused3

That looks very similiar to the ones I did for my boys when we went in March, I love the small sharpie I'll have to pick some of those up for this year. Mr. Smee went crazy for his page and he and Peter went back and forth across the way about it (he also stopped random passers by to show them!). :)

Love your book and sharpie.

I made 4 x 6 cards for my DD's birthday trip. I think she definately got more "magic" since the characters all knew it was her birthday. Lots of characters also wrote Happy Birthday when they signed the book.

I also made cards with flags for each country and had the CM's at the countries write "Happy Birthday" in their language on the cards.

Here's a picture:

you did a great job. What a cute book.

Thanks for sharing. I am in the process of making books for my 2 dk and my 2 dn's.

If you start selling them let me know! I want one!!!!! You have done a fantastic job with the book!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It looks awesome! And honestly, I'd also buy one in a heartbeat. I am not a very creative person, nor do I have the time (or energy) to make one of these for myself. It amazes me how all of you are able to come up with such great ideas!

I would try selling them if you enjoyed making it. There are a lot of people who want nice things but don't have time or materials to make them. I am surprised how many people still can't email a picture to someone!

You really should sell them. They may be easy to make, but a lot of us just don't have the time or patience (like me! :rotfl: ) to do it. The book looks great! :thumbsup2
