Final report! - Cant believe I booked Super Bowl weekend -

It looks like the hours for AK these first few weeks of February for Fri/Sat/Sun are 8 am to 8 pm, and sunsets are around 6 pm, so if you're doing AK one of these days, and stay until the end, it would be dark. I was going to do it this Sunday, but I'm not sure we'll last quite that long as temps drop into the 30s. May give it another go on Friday, 2/6.
I'll give that a try during our December trip! I think our May trip would be too bright at park close. However, we rarely stay at AK past 2-3pm, so I'll have to think that out.
When we did this it was in April, many years ago so I cant recall the exact time. But we exited the park about an hour after closing.

Booking dining right before closing can also get you great photos/experiences at the parks. I have a photo of my son sitting down in the middle of Main St with the castle behind him and no other people in the photo because we booked Be Our Guest at closing time.

If your daughter wants to maximize the park time, then do not go back to the hotel in the middle of the day. Transportation time doesn’t count after park closures.

Traveling between parks and the hotel will cost time anyway. Even though you might be able to walk between BLT and MK round trip within 20 minutes, I wouldn’t do that in the middle of the day if you paid cash for a hopper ticket.

However, on the other side, if you need to go back to hotel or to another park, transportation time is kinda similar. It will take half an hour regardlessly. If you are taking a bus then going to AK only takes maybe five minutes longer. How long you wait for bus or boat or monorail matters more.

Regarding firework vs. Chef Mickey, it depends if you have plan to watch the firework in MK.

Honestly, you can do an early meal then see the firework though you said you can’t. Not sure if you can’t get the right reservation or you have other plans. But it takes park time when your daughter wants to maximize park time anyway. What about letting her skip it, and do character dining on a resort day?

We likley wont watch the fireworks from MK. I was able to snag a fireworks viewing on our last day after AK so if she wants to just go to the room she can.

Im still on the fence about the DVC character meet. I will probably just play it by ear and see how the day is proceeding, although it's earlier this year at 11am than last year. Darn! We would go to one of the last days so if I see reports on the earlier days of a super amazing must see character I will make more of an effort.

Well I was up way before the sun to book our LL. Went mostly smooth for being half awake and realizing my hotel reservation was not linked yet. We bought LL for Epcot but it was real hard to pay $26 pp when Dinosaur will be gone and Frozen will be closed. I feel like they should take ride closures into consideration when doing the tiered pricing. Oh well. Fingers crossed Remy doesnt sell out before I can grab it.

me too :)

Not only am I an introvert but I will have the whole clan with me instead of just my husband and son. Believe it or not I am the level headed one of the bunch 😂 You know me I will be in jeans hair a mess or wearing a hat. We arrive 02/06 and head home 02/11. Where are you staying?
I’ll be there as well. Arriving the 7th departing the 11th

It will be an early hectic morning with the LL crunch. How did it work out for you guys
Got everything we wanted some were actually slightly later than I wanted. I’m going to work on bumping them to a bit earlier.

I say this now but come day of I will probably be scrambling to make them later.

Fingers crossed for us all that they work lightning speed and Frozen will reopen.

Sounds like you book Test Track? Both Remi and TT have single rider lane, and TT single rider is LL speed, though you do need to split the party.
By any chance you stay on a Monday when Epcot has EEH? Those rides can be walk on close to the end of EEH.You do need to stay late in the park and wait for monorail twice to get back to BLT, but you will be able to modify your LLMP to another park on another day

Worked out pretty well for me this morning. I’m with you on Frozen but I highly doubt it

Yep Test Track and we will be there on Monday. For part of our group EEH is amazing, my granddaughter will probably be asleep by then so fingers crossed for Remy earlier in the day.

I’ve never done EEH and I’m super excited to see how it goes.

There could be a lot of walking as world showcase will closed after the firework. Once you exit it, Frozen to Remi might mean walking around the lake. (I still get motion sickness riding Remi after it converted to 2D. But the screen is a lot clearer.) We typically do something random until popular rides become walk on. Then ride Frozen a few times, then TT. If time permits, get into the line of GoG before it closes. You might be able to walk out within 30 min (walk on condition but that includes all the pre-shows).

When you are staying at BWV, making Remi the last stop would make sense. BLT I will do Remi earlier (with some wait time) if you like it

Thanks so much for the heads up! I knew world showcase closed but I had no idea that meant you couldn’t walk through I thought just all the places closed.

Have you just been going about your day and suddenly it hits you that you made a mistake or said something stupid?

Well that’s me right now, realizing Dinosaur is at AK so it has nothing to do with my $26pp LL at Epcot 🫣🤪🤪
