Final report! - Cant believe I booked Super Bowl weekend -

I quit the rope drop at MK since they did away with the opening show.
I had no idea there was an opening now. Sounds like it would’ve been amazing.
Epcot was slammed yesterday. Never have seen it that crowded in years and I go every year.
Oh wow. Maybe that’s why MK wasn’t bad crowd wise. I will set my expectations for tomorrow for it to be extra busy.

I think it's fair to say, if you wanted a cabana this past week, you probably could have gotten it any day you wanted! Before yesterday, the only day that topped 70 degrees was Wednesday. And, even then, the air has been dry, so getting out of the pool is really well, shall we say, exhilarating! Haha.
Wonder if people were still rope dropping SAB 😂

I really wanted to do the Epcot extended evening hours for deluxe resort guests this past Monday, but we went too hard Sunday and Monday and ended up skipping it. Instead, me and my 2 boys had a delightful time in the Boulder Ridge pool and hot tub where we were literally the only ones in the entire pool and hot tub for about 2 hours.
gosh, I love the BRV pool area so much. it's one of the best parts of staying at BRV/CCV I think!! Sounds like it was a great pool night!

In case you don’t know. It’s a snack from McKims DVC lounge.
Interestingly, it is also one of the items that is almost always in my grocery order.

I am still processing the fact that they towed you with another boat—I would have sworn that they are on a track under the water!
It is on a track. I know this because they let my seven year old son "steer" for a bit back in the day. (He had the cutest red spiked mohawk. It was a Pixie Dust Magnet.) But, the boats propel themselves forward (and I think backward) on that track. If you watch the skippers closely enough you can see how it mostly works.

Today we left our room at 7:50 and arrived at the line to get into Hollywood Studios at 8:35. Solidified my effort to split trips in the future.

Although we thought rope drop would be ruined with arriving 5 mi late, we were very successful. We ride RNR and TOT. And I got coffee too :)
You are missing the boat at BWV haha

I wonder how many people were there waiting for the HS bus? Did they arrange an additional bus for rope drop folks?

Okay. I can’t even make this stuff up.

We leave HS. I was so tired. We start walking to the buses, we pass the Skyliner and I scoff ugh, wegotta go find our bus. We get to our bus and hardly any line!! Bus arrives immediately!!

Im thinking this isn’t so bad. We finally exit to the streets and then I realize we are going to Wilderness Lodge first. Ugh shared bus routes. Im thinking if we were staying here we would be “home” by now. I whisper to DH how I much a hate the bus . We start our drive to Contemporary and I’m thinking to myself and calculating how many buses I would have to take if we were at CCV.

In my tired delirium I conclude I should sell my CCV and buy more Boardwalk because that for sure keeps me on less buses and I am missing BW so bad. Then I’m like no you love CCV don’t be dramatic right now.

We start to turn left.. wait… is this Magic Kingdom??? The bus load starts to clamor “we should be going to Contemporary”! Bus driver apologizes and says she ran the MK route earlier and made a mistake. So we have to wait in a long line of buses to leave MK.

Okay we are back on the street. Driving… driving… wait isn’t that the Contemporary we are passing? Yep. We keep driving… finally make a left turn. We are back at Wilderness Lodge. Eventually we get to Contemporary. Total trip was around 1 hour.

I’m not mad. We were soo tired from the bus ride we couldn’t help but laugh our butts off at what just happened.

Sounds like you need to start hunting for lyft/uber gift card deals :)

I do feel generally like WDW bus routes are running much less frequently than they used to, with it often being more than 15 minutes between buses…but I can’t say for sure because in Feb we walked to Epcot and just took Lyft to Animal Kingdom because I didn’t want to gamble with waiting 20 minutes for a bus.

They said 20 minutes in between buses. But they can run behind. I am officially over buses.

Help me out. Family debate. If we got on the Monorail at Epcot and went to the transfer station and got on the resorts Monorail what stops would we make before arriving at Contemporary?

My husband took my son to the DVC meet and treat :)
I believe, Poly, Grand Flo, MK, then back to CR.

We took monorail from CR to Epcot last week too - it was pretty good. I think the return trip is where it is not quite as short and easy, although still not too bad I would think.

Edit: We took the bus back to WL so didn't take the monorail back.

I lost our bet. Still learning WDW. I thought resorts Monorail didn’t stop at any parks. So the trip back took much longer. Nice ride though.

Don’t worry when DS was younger and not reading he saw the Monorail coming and told grandma to hurry. They made the train but instead of getting off at BLT, the first stop from MK they rode round trip as they had gotten on the Express Monorail to Epcot and then had to get on the resort one 🤦‍♀️
