Final report! - Cant believe I booked Super Bowl weekend -

That was *fast*. They did it in three weeks, plus or minus?
Yes very fast! Just about 3 weeks I think. Maybe they will "soft open" it early and I will get lucky! If not there's other trips and my granddaughter hasn't learned what Frozen is yet, but she knows the fab 5 thats for sure.

Ohhhh I also just found out I booked us for Olympics opening weekend. For the sake of our marriage my husband gave up his football obsession when we met (I didnt ask him to he is just smart enough to know that was best).

BUT he loves watching the Olympics opening ceremony. Another oops!

We have arrived! We did not get our room request. Darn :( We have a great view just not the view I requested.

BLT - Still loving the refurb they did here. Love the refurb, the extra bathroom, the monorail going through the contemporary, all the shops at the contemporary, the MK view when stepping off the elevator. On paper I should adore this resort. But I just really like it and I’m happy I can stay here while not owning here.

Have a great trip, enjoy the great view, and embrace the spirit of Hakuna Matata while traveling with the extended family!

We are attempting rope drop for MK today. We have only rope dropped one other time at MK, just my husband and I after a red eye and we failed miserably! I think I have a plan for today. Mine train up first.
Have fun! We did not rope drop this week, but we did do the deluxe resort MK extended hours and it was fantastic, I had not done that before, so wasn't sure what to expect, and the park really emptied out after the fireworks.

I think SDMT is a solid choice for rope drop, especially with the Buzz Lightyear ride currently closed.

Have a great trip! On our recent January trip which was cut short due to impending weather my friend and I decided to rope drop MK also. We did it on the day that MK was closing at 4:30pm due to the Castmember event, party and awards for those (i think) with 10 years or more of service. Stuff was a walk on for most of our time there. We did Jungle Cruise first and then boarded again since the line was still short. We did not buy any LL's or anything like that. I had an annual pass and friend had a hopper pass, so about 4:15pm we boarded a Beach Club bus and headed to Epcot via BC and international gateway. Was going to do BW's bus but it was very crowded and we wouldn't have a seat so decided to hop to BC spot right next to it that had a half dozen riders. Stayed at Epcot almost all evening. It was cold and friend bought a new hoodie instead of going back to the room for additional coats.

Next morning I stayed and packed while she rope dropped DHS until about 3pm, then we checked out and headed to our overnight hotel in South Carolina, arriving at 10:30pm.

We had arrived early the prior Saturday. Either Sunday or Monday we rope dropped Animal Kingdom.

This is not how I roll. But with a friend who was paying top dollar for a 3 day hopper, I had to get going and do some park! Usually when alone I'll do a couple of hours here and there. Overall it was a great trip, especially considering I've been snow and ice bound complete with 2 falls since we got home. Considered staying down south but friend has a job. Right now the wind is gusting at 40mph and my yard is iced over although I did have my driveway cleaned. Instacart, Amazon and Target deliveries are keeping me comfy. The chill in Florida sounds wonderful compared to here. Next trip in winter will have a stay south contingency plan.

We made it! Not as smooth as DLR rope drop since there is way more hotel guests here. But still decen.

We will get to do EEH at Epcot this trip and I’m pumped!!

I not usually don’t do rope drop but like you rolling with what the rest of our family wants to do. I secretly want to need to buy a new hoodie 😂😂

40 mph cold winds 🥶🥶🥶 stay warm!

Experienced the short walk to MK from BLT for a 2nd time. This spoiled Disneylander wasn’t super impressed this time either, although more impressed than last time since we have now stayed at VDH more. Glad I wasn’t on a bus though!

Room to turnstile was 14 minutes.
I do not think the walk form BLT to MK is anything particularly impressive, but I will say, this week when I was waiting for a boat at 11 pm with a nice, cool breeze and temps in the mid-50s, with a 4 year old asleep on my shoulder, I did think to myself, man, I could have walked to BLT by now. That said, carrying him all the way on that walk would not have been particularly fun either, so I guess pick your poison. I still would rather own CCV over BLT, but I can definitely foresee targeting some BLT preferred view rooms for future MK-heavy stays.

I know! I have stayed at BLT and had to make that decision to ride the monorail or walk.

The key is to make the decision as you come out of MK, not after you hit the monorail. I've done it with 2 grands as toddlers. They are only 1 year and 3 weeks apart, so my DD carrying one and myself carrying the other on a trip where we decided they could do some walking rather than dealing with the dreaded double stroller. For me it was walk a few yards, pick up and carry, on repeat. Next they will be pushing me, so it will even out long term. They are 9 and 10 now, and my other set from my son is 1 and 3 and a half, but son and dil would like to go but 'everything has to be perfect' so not sure if that trip will ever happen.

DD is the type to 'catch every chance to travel' so she knows how to rough it if necessary to keep herself in the air.
