O.K., I have paid for my Nov. 29th, 2003 sailing in full already but, it looks like DCLs cancellation policy is loss of deposit from 60 days to 30 days prior to sailing. So why tie up your cash for those 30 days? I understand that upgrages are more frequent for early payers. Is it DCLs policy to have the cruise pain in full 60 days prior? Or did I just assume that?

The balance of your trip is due 60 days prior to sailing. I don't know that they'll hold your reservation if you have not paid by the due date.

I don't know that there's any rhyme or reason to upgrades. I would think that they wouldn't start assigning cabins to those with GTY status until after the 60-day mark, so they would know how many cancellations they'll have. We've paid in full at the time of booking for several of our cruises and have never been upgraded. I think that the upgrade formula is a secret more closely guarded than the 11 herbs and spices in the Colonel's chicken....

Thanks Lloyd......I guess nobody wants to take a chance of losing their reservation.
